Has anyone ever had a child stolen at WDW?

some posters who think Snopes is the epitomy of news excellence...

I think I'm a little more critically thinking than that. I'll use my own sources, thank you, but you are free to believe whatever bunk there is on the 'net...

Apart from that, please feel free to use any amount of catchy phrases you like, including "urgan legands."

Having been in law enforcement for 17 years in my prior career, I will withhold my trust in your spoken word...

;)

Dr. Happy,

If you have any sources that say a child was kidnapped, we definitely want to know. That was the point of the thread. Do you know that there was a kidnapping or attempted kidnapping? Your posts read as if you do, but you haven't told us about it yet. If this is really happening, we all want to know.

Dr. Happy,

And we are going to believe you, who have offered no evidence AT ALL to the contrary. You, too are a stranger on the internet. We would be happy to evaluate any evidence you have that a child has ever been kidnapped from Disney. So far you haven't provided any. If you choose not to believe Snopes, fine. But you need to provide some contrary evidence. The FBI stats you asked me for would be nice - a newspaper article - a person who claims it happened to them (with contact information, first and last name and city - not the friend of a friend that urban legends feeds on).

We are all more than happy to say "It could happen." No one is dumb enough to believe it can never happen. You just need to provide evidence that it has happened. Which is the point of this thread.

Once again I would like to remind posters that this is not the debate board.

I don't think we need to debate the fact that children need to be watched carefully at WDW, or your local shopping mall, or any where else you take them out in public, for that matter. We could also debate for many days the level of measures taken by WDW to prevent such an event from occuring or what they might or might not do in the event that it did happend. However, unless you have had first hand experience with this - as an employee or victim - I imagine it is like many other aspects of the Disney company, and the details are not meant for general knowledge.

However, the point remains that the original question was whether or not someone has had a child kidnapped at WDW. Unless this has happened to you directly or you are able to offer some actual proof that such an event has or has not actually occurred, please refrain from making vague references.

making these boards the "Politically Correct Everyone Always Agrees With Everyone Else" boards. That would seem a little boring to me. As long as we keep off the personal put-downs, then I'm all for telling someone their opinion is full of hooey if that's the way I feel. Anyone care to disagree? Please?:D

I truly don't feel any child has been stolen from WDW if that means I live in a bubble so be it! But if it did happen it would be all over the news. Granted Disney would want it hushed and probably do what ever possible to keep it quiet but what parent would accecpt hush money over finding their kids.
Do I think it is possible to have your kid stolen at Disney you betcha! No way do I feel I can just let the kid run free and not keep my eye on them at all times. To me it is just like any other place in the world. Preditors are there. Sad we have to worry about that even in the happiest place in the world but we do and I will worry and watch no matter what.
Even if and I do say if, it was perfectly safe I still wouldn't want to get seperated from my kid our son was 'missing" for maybe 4 minutes at Dinoland. I forgot the bridge over to the digging pit and he was suppose to come down the slide and didn't, his sister came down the slide, but no brother. I paniced DH stayed at the slides, grandparents at the exits...I started looking all over for him, got a cast member who was great, just asked ??? and then went to call..needless to say my son came bouncing over happy as can be! I just picked him up and started to cry...all he said mom I was just up top! So he wasn't lost in his mind but let me tell you for that short period of time all kinds of thoughts ran through my mind!

I am locking this thread because it seems to be unable to stay on topic.
