Has anyone ever done this?

A friend of mine is celebrating her birthday during a trip next week. Do you know if it is possible to call a restaurant ahead of time and leave a credit card to pick up the bill?

My alternative thought was to just give Disney Dollars - but I know others have already done that so I was hoping to do something different.

Any thoughts or other suggestions?

Another alternative is the new disney gift card

the gift card is a good idea. before the gift cards, we would call dining and make the ADRs for the couple(they would have mentioned they are dining at such and such restaurant on such and such day)in their name. then present them the $$ in a lovely/funny card. this has worked well.
