**Be prepared, if you do this, and make it into the show, and possibly the final show, this is an ALL Day activity. So if you only have one day in the park, just be sure your party does not mind if they have fun without you

** With that being said, I say....
Go for it!! My daughter has done it a few times, she keeps making it to the finals, but has yet to win. She really wants to try out for AI this year, so having that ticket to get to the front of the line would be nice.

You do not have to go early in the morning, HOWEVER, depending on park capacity, they may fill up fast. Usually by noon or 1, they are done auditioning for the day.
First you go into a small auditioning room with one person who you audition for. You sing any song you want, as long as it is not on the list, or that you will be singing for the second part. You sing acapella. If they decide to pass you on, you will be passed on to the second part. You go to the "coca cola" lounge that is equipped with ipods and headphones. You choose 2 songs from the list, which can be found online. One thing to remember, you have to sing their version. So be sure you listen to it before you try out with it. Many songs have two keys, which helps, for those who know their range.
When you are ready, you will tell them which songs you choose and go into the audition room. They give you a microphone, put the words on the screen and you sing your heart out. If you make it, they give you a time to come back! This is where the all day part comes in. If you make it, you have to come back an hour before your show. It is REALLY fun. You get your hair and make up done and get a vocal coach for a bit to help you get ready. Then you will take the stage as practice before the real show starts. Your party will get a pass to come back early so they get seats for the show. It is just like the real American Idol, judges and all. If you win this show, you will come back for the final. Again you have to come back an hour ahead of time. I think the last show is at 5? Possibly 6. While you sing, a Disney Photo Pass photographer captures the whole thing with pictures, as you are not allowed to video tape at all.
Again, I say go for it. My daughter has had THE best time, and I love watching. ALso, if the person auditioning is a minor, and adult has to be with them at all times, just so you know.
The one thing that is really great is that everyone in there is very positive and cheer you on through the whole process!
Let us know if you decide to do it!
(hopefully this helps you. I was smiling the whole time typing, as it really is an amazing experience to be a part of, no matter what.)
