I just took a survey regarding my DVC use and preferences. Solicited by an email. (I guess I took a risk clicking on the link.)

The first question asked whether I owned DVC, so I assume the survey included non-owners.

They wanted to know whether I bought/used my points for DVC resorts only versus Concierge and other exchange options. They were interested in why I don't plan to use non-DVC options, and wanted to know what factors contributed to that decision.

Are they looking to enhance the attractiveness of exchanges? I'm sure they're looking to sell more points, but any improvement there would help us all.

I got it too. I could not go past third/fourth question. My connection/computer acts up every few days (I think it's the wire connected from computer to box - Fiber optic ) don't really know. Keeps telling me to check my tools/setting, etc. :confused3 :confused3

I just filled it out too. The email was addressed: Dear Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online Research Panel Member. I know I signed up for this in the past so no worries clicking the link.

Are they looking to enhance the attractiveness of exchanges?

My impression a was the opposite it seemed to me they were trying to determine what is valued by DVC owners. It's quite possible the questions were answer driven so my survey may have been geared towards an owner who has used Concierge Collection exchanges which we have several times over the years and I had answered in that way. It also asked if the availability of these options - Concierge/Disney/World Passport/Adventure Collections had influence on your purchase decision or if unavailable would that inflluence your interest in DVC.

I hope they're looking at adding to and not limiting our options. I know many folks on this board don't see value in using DVC for anything but DVC. However, I like to know the quality and service has been evaluated and meets Disney standards to be included in the collection, this has been my experience. Also, if there is a problem I have member services for assistance.

I got it - it just took a few minutes to complete. Don't think my answers will be of much help to them.

We have not used the Conceirge Collection, don't plan to use it anytime in the forseeable future and don't care what options it contains or doesn't contain since they all cost more points than we are willing to spend. We use DVC for WDW DVC stays and pay cash for our other vacations.

Best wishes -

I also got the survey to an e-mail address that isn't normally used by me for Disney.

Unfortunately, my computer acted up as I was typing in the address to be notified if I win the $100 gift!

We also got it and we are exactly like Carol in our vacationing.

Just finished the survey. It seemed to me that the survey was researching the value of the Conceirge Collection to DVC members.

I just filled out the form and we pretty much vacation the same way as Carol and ceejay13.

:scratchin

Hmmm, just some free thinking here... but by putting this together with some speculation on other threads, do you think Disney is trying to estimate the number of points that they will accumulate in the near future by members trading out? That way, they can offer those points to people who purchase at CRV or AKV (or wherever) as an incentive, since the new resorts won't be ready for a while...

Just a thought.

I completed mine also, and pretty much stated what Carol said in the comment box.

It may not bode well for exchanges, but imho DVC points are for DVC resorts. Anything else, we use cash. If I ever get into a bind and need to trade out or lose points, I will.

As Carol stated:

I completed my survey, also. And I totally agree with Carol and the other posters regarding the above. I bought DVC to use it at WDW. Other trips are paid with cash. I have no interest in using points anywhere outside of WDW.

ITA :thumbsup2

I just can't see using that many points for a CC stay.

that is what I say too.

although I do use the disney collection. Yes I know the WDW hotels are expensive. that is one reason why I really, really want the Cont.... no more paying out points or cash for it.

Have another timeshare that I trade. It gets great trades for far less money than my DVC would be.

Carol - see how many agree with you!!!

Got it and responded as well. Add me to the Disney centric group. We use our points for DVC and an occasional Disney collection stay, but not for the other collections. Nice that they offer them if it gives value to others.

Use Marriott Vacation Club and Marriott Rewards Points for non-Disney holidays.

I just finished taking the survey. When prompted to futher comment on one of the responses I answered in the same nature as the rest of you that DVC was for Disney and that we owned MVC that we used for other trips. I did, however, comment that how we use our DVC points may change when it's just the two of us vacationing and not the family of 5.
