Has anyone else seen Christmas items up already?

At Kohl's our Christmas seasonal shop goes out the middle of September...

Earlier and earlier in the hopes of separating us from more of our money.

To a PP: if you have a Garden Ridge in your area, go there after Christmas. Last year ours still looked fully stocked a week before and after the holiday they were practically giving stuff away.

I've only seen Halloween & thanksgiving stuff. We went to Ross today and hubby comes up to me and hands me a cute Halloween cookie cutter set. I bought it-lol I guess. Made my first and only Halloween purchase. We don't get hardly any trick or treaters. Some due to religion and others go to the newer bigger houses. I use to decorate all out and we bought some stuff for a graveyard up the side walk that dd wanted to decorate. We are the only ones with decorations on the street and maybe even block

And I thought the retailers here were crazy since the Halloween stuff and Back-to-School supplies were on the shelves pretty much at the same time. Our kids started back to school in August so - yeah - ghosts and goblins decorating the stores in JULY. I haven't seen any Christmas trees yet, but I imagine they'll be in the aisles any day now.

There is demand.

I once worked at a home decor store. We had people asking for Christmas stuff starting in September. Fall holidays (Halloween and Thanksgiving) were not as big of sellers as Christmas. Now, our store did our Christmas layouts in stages with different departments coming in different weeks. That is because Christmas setup took SO long! So we also had to start early to get everything out without disrupting the WHOLE store and had time to move normal merchandise to make space.

Personally, I'm Glad. I'm three months behind in where I should be.

(and yes, I'm the person who is decorating their Christmas Tree in between trick or treaters on Halloween)
