Has anyone else lost the Disney bug?

I agree with most ... it takes me a little time (3-6 months) after a trip to get that itch to go back again. I'm sure you haven't lost it for good :goodvibes

I have been feeling this way too for the past couple years. I am not sure why :confused3 Now that my kids are older and able to really have fun, we are going to try again and see if the magic reappears.

Plus, the last few times we've gone... the parks were packed, wait times were insane (we only go off peak), dinner reservations were impossible and the park guests were kinda rude (drunk @ EPCOT) and unhappy. It wasn't the 'happy' place it used to be.

I hear ya! Sounds just like our right-before-Christmas Disneyland trip. I really didn't want to return again until our July Adventures by Disney trip, and I was tempted to eat our ABD deposit because another crowded park day sounded like a nightmare.

But we'd already scheduled a January trip (extremely cheap airfare and hotel). We hit the park right between storms and it was wonderful! I don't think we'll go at Christmas again, though.

You could always try a new park. If you always go to WDW, go to DLR instead for something different.

I can't say I've lost the Disney bug, but there was a long stretch when we couldn't get to DLR more than once every couple of years. We plan to get APs this summer and get two summer vacations (and a few weekends) on one AP. For us, it is cheaper than a "big" vacation like Hawaii, Europe, or even WDW.

I have not lost the feeling but I was heading that direction so I decided to make sure each trip is unique. We stay at a different resort, sometimes we bring our daughter but we also leave her at home and have a slightly more adult trip. We make sure we try new restaurants, I always search the boards for new ideas and insider tips that most people don't know about. We will be going in June and this time we have a cabin at FW, this will be very new experience for us. I hope you get the feeling back. For me it's the feeling of a 6 year old boy who walks on to Main street for the first time in 1972.

I felt like that a little after our last trip. We had been in January 2008 for a week, January 2009 for a week, 3 days Springs Break 2009 and a week In January 2010. (Maybe too many trips????)

We are planning to go back in October for the Halloween party (MNSSHP) and we are doing Disney Quest. We are also taking a day to enjoy the pool at our resort and the kids are going to do the resort activities ( Animal Kingdom Lodge). Basically, we are planning to do things we have not done before to mix it up a bit.

I am looking forward to trying some new things...:cool1:

I find this thread to be quite an interesting sociological exercise into the minds of the Disney Parks loonies - such as myself.

I haven't lost the "bug", but I don't go that often. My vacations have been really new and interesting over the last few years, and I've had wonderful experiences. I'll go back at some point, and my infection by the "bug" will spread throughout my body and mind. I suggest a break from the D-parks as well. Go to a national park - see the true beauty this country has to offer. That's my humble recommendation.

I do get a bit burnt out sometimes. I work here so it takes ALOT to get up and go to the parks. But once I do I get the Disney bug all over again. There are still things that I havnt done. That I want to do!

Not us.

We visit at least 4 times a year (going to be 5 times this year) and love each visit.
  • Sometimes the visits are just Val & I, and we love just walking around taking in the Disney magic while holding hands. Did I mention that Val & I met at WDW?
  • Sometimes the visits are with our grandson (like the last one) and we love seeing the Disney magic through his eyes.
  • Sometimes the visits are with large groups of Disney nuts (you know who you are) and its kind of a group magic thing.

Still enjoying the magic.

Val & I are going to be in your home town in a few weeks. Val's attending a high school class reunion - won't say which number.

Val says it was Lafayette Senior High. We're staying with her brother who lives a few streets over from the Arcadian Mall. Where is Festival International?

Aaron, it is pretty cool. We marvel at all the things that had to happen just for us to meet in the first place. Its a long story, but I'd be happy to tell you about it next time we see you. Its magic. pixiedust:
