You go! As a non-DVC member who loves to rent points from other DVC members, I enjoy your praise of DVC when the topic arises. I'm trying to talk DH into becoming a member...he'll cave eventually.

By the way, I don't think you're the DVC member the OP had in mind -- as a matter of fact, I'm CERTAIN of it.

BTW--I'm THRILLED to learn about the addition of small refrigerators to the mods and deluxes! This is FANTASTIC news!!

That's great news about the fridges! Especially for anyone with young children like us. Now if they could install the high speed internet. I understand that have it in the convention hotels but my husband can't be the only one dragging his laptop to Disney (owns own business). We stayed at the Poly last time and loved it but dial-up was too painfully slow for him to do what he needed each day. Here's hoping!

Please let me know if the refrigerators are there for your trip to the Polynesian. I'll be going about a month and 1/2 after you do. With my wee ones (3 and 1) on our trip, we were going to rent one anyway, but if they are there it would be one less thing to worry about beforehand. Thanks.

Was staying at Coronado Springs and had a coffee maker and at least one flavor of coffee packet in the room (never used it).

SInce I never purchase items from a mini-bar or hotel-stocked refrigerator, I would rather not have one in the room where children could tamper with it.

Would putting a refrigerator in every Value resort room result in cramped space complaints?

There may have been problems with moving fridges and resulting damage to them where just keeping one in every room is almost as cost effective considering the labor part.

The electricity consumption would go up, if Mousekeepers were not consciencious about turning off the fridges when not in use. (Once I came back to my room to find all the lights on, was that to give the resort a more full look from the outside?)

If you want to be sure you have a fridge for your stay, I was able to get one added to reservations at AKL and WL for no charge. Since Disney is in the process of getting these installed at all deluxes and moderates, I guess they're also comping fridges, at least at deluxes, if the roll-out isn't complete at the time of your stay. (My DU TA confirmed it will be free.)

I am so glad to hear they are putting refrigerators in the hotel rooms. About time - have you seen the state of the ones that they rent out for $10 a DAY ! ? The last one we had, there was no bar acroos the milk/juice storing compartment in the door, the door wouldnt stay shut as one of the legs was missing - we had to stuff paper and card under to keep it level, and it was brown and yukky! it did keep our sprite nice and cool though As we dont have enough points to stay for more than 5 days in peak season at a DVC, we wil be staying in a resort for a few nights. Probably the beach club or Poly. Not having to pay extra for a refrigerator will be great!

Just checked out of POFQ yestereday and they have hairdryers, iron and ironing board, coffee makers but NO fridges yet.

I just spoke with CM at CRO and asked to add refrigs. to our two rooms for our Sept trip. They said they would note of reservation and would be no charge. I guess there comping all the mods and deluxes until they get them in all the rooms.

I just spoke with the front desk at WL. Told him that our arrival was October and asked about fridges. He said that all of their rooms now have them installed at no additional cost. Yippee! Nothing like getting a freebee from WDW!

I had seen this rumour before we left on the 17th and asked at check in about availability. The front desk clerk said they were not available for all rooms yet, but as I requested one he would have it sent up to the room. No charge.

My DH called today to confirm our reservations for CSR starting 9/10. He also added a refrigerator and they said it would be $10.00 per day. He said he had read online that they were starting to put them in the rooms and might not be charged. She replied that she had heard the same thing, but her computer said she had to charge $10.00. So he then called CSR and they said that we would have a refrigerator at no charge. NOt sure what is going to happen but we're hoping to get it for free! We'll know soon enough!
