We had 50 points deposited in RCI in 2020.
Around a year ago, we paid $100 to extend the points to 2021-2022.
For the last few weeks, we've been trying to access the RCI website.
The DVC pages work—clicking on "managing RCI reservations" and then clicking "Book RCI online" and then the redirecting to RCI page.
All that works fine.
But when we get to RCI, we get "We're experiencing technical difficulties and apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later!"
This has been going on for the last several weeks.
We emailed DVC and they gave us complicated IT directions. We followed those the best we could and nothing happened.
We've called twice. The first time, they told us again it was a website issue. The second time, they told us Disney had record of our transaction (extending points) but that RCI had failed to enter our points into the system. The cast member we talked to said if RCI had put in our points, then we would have had access to the site. Her story was that it's not a website problem.
Has anyone else experienced difficulty like this? Or success?
It's very frustrating. I know Disney has ended their partnership with RCI. But I feel like even though we put those 50 points into RCI, we are still Disney (DVC) members and not RCI. I feel like Disney is trying to wash their hands of us (or at least our 50 points).
