Hi everyone,

I'm just sitting here thinking (and getting a tiny bit annoyed). We purchased 270 pts in May. No complaint there, I can't wait to use them for the first time this June. I am however a little annoyed our rep didn't suggest buying the min. then doing an add-on. I would have liked an extra backpack ;) . Actually, I was thinking more on the lines of those APs they were giving out or the extra 100 pts. I would have gone to 300 pts at the time, but thought 270 would get us the 9-10days once a year we like. So now that I got that off my chest, has that anyone else felt like their rep didn't tell them the ins & outs good enough.

Please no flames. I understand she did her job & she did it well. She answered every question we asked. Some of them several times. It never occured to us to do two transactions. I just wished she had mentioned it. BTW we did not fiance thru disney.

I know you may feel like you might have done things a different way but your quote above is really all your guide is obligated to do. They are salespeople and they are making a sale. It could also be that they don't always know what the "next incentive" will be until shortly before we do. That could even be on purpose so that they don't delay sales.

The AP promotion didn't happen until the Fall. There is no way your Guide would have known about it in May.

Oh, and I didn't think they gave out backpacks for add-ons.

I think doing a minimum purchase and then an add-on results in more processing & closing costs for DVC, which is why they don't suggest it. I wish I would have bought my 250 points as 150 and 100. Not for extra "gifts" but in case I need to sell part as I get older.

I don't think most guides would think of it or even think it's that good of an idea. They aren't planning on you selling, only buying more later.

Thank you all. You've made some very good points. I was only kidding about the back pack, I have no idea if you get one with an add on or not. Who knows maybe the next incentive will be enough to talk DH into buying more points. lol

My guide did not let me know that buying at a sold out resort via waitlist thorugh Disney was even an option. I did not buy after the tour because I wanted to review the materials and make sure I didn't have more questions. I did, when I call the guide, he took two weeks to return call. Interestingly, most of my questions would have been answered if he had provided me with the public offering statement that FL law requires they file (but I didn't know that was what I should have asked for at the time). Since he left me with lots of time to check out resale options, these boards etc. I decided that resale made more sense. Now I'm waiting to hear about ROFR . Please send pixie dust :)

A PS added 3/14/05 - the pixie dust worked :cool1: passed ROFR THANKS
