We are in the planning stages of our trip and we are considering Ohana's for dinner one night and we are hesitant for our kids. Do many kids like this? What is the food like?

We have res in Sep. I saw the res on food network and it looked great. What do they have for kids? Can kids share a meal or get theri own.

At the time our DS were 2 1/2 and 10 months and they were great, tons:thumbsup2 of kids when we went. Ohanna's was one of our favorite places!!! Food was great and so was the Lapu Lapu!!! Watch out its a strong cocktail!!!

Our family loves Ohana!! It is the restaurant we eat at on our arrival night. I have a son who is a very picky eater and he always finds something to eat there. I believe he ate the salad, bread, and potatoes. Of course, dessert too!

Ohana is a must for our family. We went in January with DD5 and she loves it!!! We are planning on taking her again in October for her birthday. Also, just a thought, but we always make reservations to be there during Wishes and they pipe the music in and you have a great view!!!

I may be in the minority.but my kids HATED Ohana. That is one of the only places they said they did not want to return to.My son was 5,and DD was 12
There is a lot of food,my son did have fun with the coconut races and the games, but he wouldn't eat anything!

We love it there, our children loved it. Dd and myself took part in the hula dancing and 'won' a garland each, is was so much fun!

menu is BBQ food on skewers, prawns, chicken wings, salad, potatoes and banana bread pudding for dessert.

This is among one of our favorites as well! Love the grilled meats and Maui scalloped potatoes!!

They offer a kids menu of chicken strips, mac and cheese, and peanut butter and jelly upon request. This may help if you ever want to try it again!

We are trying 'Ohana for the first time too. I feel like I am going out on a limb with this one, because I am not sure if my family will like it, but I really want to give it a try. (We will have an extra CS just for back up in case every one is disappointed. ;) )

This is the place you go to see your kids have fun--if they are open to participating! Coconut Races, hula-type singing to 'Little Grass Shack', marching around the restaurant.
The food is mediocre. Skewered meat (sausages--awful, pork--overdone, and chicken, I think--ok) is easy to forget. Salad is good, potatoes good, and we never even ate the shrimp (cold) that came because it was in-shell and had not been deveined.
My recommendation? Eat elsewhere, then take the family to Ohana for cocktails for the adults, and the kids can join in the fun! No reservations needed, as the lounge/bar is kind of the waiting area for the restaurant--one big area.
Afterwards, go out on the beach to watch the fireworks. Get there in time to grabe the swings. Then, rise the monorail at night.

I don't have children yet, but every time I have been there it seems the little ones are having a blast. There is a guy who gets all the kids together and plays games and teaches them hula.

The menu is potato ay gratin and grilled meats and stir fried veggies (with a few other things) if that doesn't sound like something the kids will eat Disney is veru good at accomodating. I would just call Ohana in advance and ask them to have a kids meal ready. I think they will like the atmosphere though:thumbsup2

I enjoyed OHana (nice pina colada there, the food was good but not great.) My son didn't like the food at all, so it's nice to know about the children's menu that is available. For me, Ohana is a good choice for atmosphere--let the kids play, have a tropical drink and view the MK at night, but don't expect the food to be the same quality as a similarly priced non-Disney restaurant.

Ohana's is a great place to take your family. they have coconut races, limbo and i can't remember if they have other games. my family and i went last year on fathers day and loved it(i have a ten year old brother) and he had a blast. food is good and so is entertainment.

We just got back from our trip and Ohana's was by far the BEST meal of our trip. We all loved it - there is something for everyone to eat. My 2.5 year old liked it too. It's just a great atmosphere.

I thought the food was great at Ohana. I have a picky 4 yr old and they brought her chicken strips and french fries. All you have to do is ask for something different for the kids. Go hungry b/c it is a ton of food!

Wish we would have known that too. We were there for my B-day last year. I didn't care for the food, but other memebers of our party liked it. My DD5 didn't eat a thing. It was a lot of fun there though.

I'm surprised your server didn't offer her something. As soon as our server saw my children he asked if they would like something more kid friendly to eat.

Going next week. Have been there before and enjoyed it.
