We are planning on eating here on our next visit (next week!). I know this is an expensive steakhouse but can someone give me an idea of how expensive? Like is it really over the top or say priced the same as Emerils Tchoup choup which to me is moderately expensive. I just don't want any surprises.... Thanks!

We ate there in June 2005, two adults, two 12 year old boys. None of us got anything extravegant. We all had steak. The only drinks we had were soft drinks and our bill was $170.00, that does include tip.

I know exactly how you feel. Except, my thoughts on the place was more pirate:

We had no idea that it was that expensive. My wife had a conference down there and we went down with her. Her boss had told her about this great place to eat called Charleys and that we had to try it. So, we did. Yes, the food was really good. But, we only went once and probably won't go again.

My wife's exact words: "we could have added a day to Disney for what that cost." I don't think she was all that pleased with her boss.

The following week, we were looking for a place to eat and before we would go in, she would have me go in and look at the menu before we would decide to eat there.

:earseek: I like steak but not that much!! I hope that bill included starters, entrees & desserts!! We normally eat pretty much where we like, normally we all take turns, but I just couldn't justify that sort of money on 1 meal! SD

Nope, no appetizers, no desert, no wine, no drinks from the bars. Just steak, potatoes and salads. We did get free bread though. :cool1: I think the only additional item we ordered was an order of garlic bread. Maybe that's what pushed the bill over the top.

We had never spent that much money on a meal, and hope to never do it again. Our anniversary was in a couple of days, so we chalked it up to our anniversary dinner. Also, we'll never go anywhere that her boss suggests again.

If you don't mind spending that kind of money, then give it a try. Everyone said it was the best steak they had ever had. Of course, this was after we paid the bill. Maybe the boys just told me that to bring me out of my catatonic state.

wow, thanks for htis thread.

We will pass on this restaurant!

We go there every time we're in Orlando. A great steak place, right up there with the steakhouses in Manhattan.
