Has anyone eaten at Bongos recently? I'm trying to decide on a restaurant in DTD. Now that more restaurants are participating in the DDP, I'd like to try someplace different. The menu looks interesting at Bongos, any opinions?

We ate there about two weeks ago and LOVED it! I wish we had it here. It was very flavorful unlike a lot of other places we tried.

Thank you. I like to try different places when we're away. I'm making my adr's this weekend. We'll be there in August. :cool1:

I've only been to Bongos once for lunch. I got the medianoche sandwich, and it definitely didn't disappoint. In fact, I would say it was downright delicious. The patio has a great view and it was very relaxing mid afternoon.

I'm making my ADRs this weekend, going to give Bongos a try. I think I have as much fun planning and reading dining reviews as I have on the trip itself!;)

Being of puerto rican decent, and growing up eating a lot of homeade food. ( This is cuban ) but there virtually the same. This place never ever disappoints. From the servers, to the food, to the ambience, atmoshere, to the live band. All authentic. Also as PP stated , On a nice mid to late afternoon evening an outdoor table is perfect. I've never had lunch there , only 4 dinners. Get ready to get WOWed...Have fun:banana::banana:

This! :thumbsup2

Also being of Puerto Rican decent...I couldn't agree more that Bongo's is the real deal. Even if we don't have time to sit down to eat, I always have to stop at their "street" window every time we're in DTD.

The papas rellenas and the empanadas are not to be missed! :goodvibes

I was just coming on to ask this..just changed a ressie last night to bongos..now I'm excited!:rockband::dancer:

Ican't wait to get back there in Aug. I did'nt get a chance to eat there this past Nov. so I'm foaming at the mouth...Love the Place..:woohoo:

So I read this and totally decided I would do an ADR for our August trip. DH has wanted to go and now that it is part of the the DDP I thought this was the best chance to get it in....but now I notice there is an express window....hmmmm

So even though I have an ADR...I'm wondering if its worth using it as a TS, when I could just use a QS credit for it. He has simple taste on menu, but I'm wondering if the atmosphere of being in the restaurant would make up for using the ts vs qs.

any thought?

Nice to hear some positive reviews for Bongo's. I went through a phase last year of looking at Bongo's reviews and all i found were negative ones. So I'm happy to hear good stuff!
