Has anyone done Wishes FP+ recently?

We loved it two weeks ago. A CM went around asking people to stand right before Wishes but before that people were sitting.

Curious, any reason they make u stand for Wishes?

Make more room and so no one is stepped on when the lights are low

However the two times I've been, no one was made to stand. They tell you upon entrance it'll be standing room only. If you're near the front, you're standing. If you're closer to the back the CMs don't say anything to you and don't mind if you sit

Heard reports that some people had their view of Wishes blocked by all the lamp posts, anyone experience this?

There are lamp posts. I think "blocked" depends upon one's definition since the fireworks are in the sky and quite large.

I did not feel that it blocked my view at all.

You can see the lights of the lampposts here:

Fireworks--not blocked (IMHO)

I was to the right (in front of the Plaza) at the back right corner of this area.

Did either of you have trouble leaving the MSEP FP+ area to get to the Wishes FP+ area? We have scheduled both for the day we arrive since we are getting there late in the day.

Thank you for the advice to get there early. We will keep that in mind.

It wasn't the smoothest open path ever or anything but it wasn't a total nightmare. We were trying to move pretty quickly because the CMs at MSEP had indicated we would have the same problem with the Wishes FP+ that we'd had with the MSEP. In fact, they'd even suggested when we couldn't get a spot in the MSEP FP+ area that we kind of scrap that and head up to the Wishes area but that irritated me to no end so we didn't. Anyway, they were wrong because we didn't have the same problem with Wishes at all.

So to actually answer your question, advice on here had indicated that we should follow the parade up Main Street but we were already on one side of the street and just went up the sidewalk. They kind of keep a clear path behind the parade watchers or you can cut through the stores. On the sidewalk we were able to move faster than the parade was so we kind of got ahead of it and went to the FP+ area on the side that we were already on instead of trying to cross the street. Like I said, it wasn't super smooth but it was manageable. And we were pushing a stroller too.

I had a FP+ for wishes on the 24 hour day. Best thing ever. We lounged on the fake grass and had plenty of space. A cm came through right before it started and said to stand. Everyone just sat back down when it started. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Same here. While they asked everyone to stand they do not REQUIRE everyone to stand. You get freedom to do what you want. It is easier to see while standing so we did stand. It's all of 15 min, so not an issue. I will use a FP for Wishes again if the situation lines up right for us to do so.

Here is our view of the castle. We arrived back in MK at 8:30, with the 9:00 Wishes show and walked right in and found our spot without issue. This would have been impossible without the FP.

Going in November and have a day planned at the resort with evening at MK. Considering a Wishes FP+ since most of the day will be at the resort and it won't really impact us getting extra FP+. That said, how are the crowds in the area, how early would we need to arrive, do people sit or stand, etc.

Any information or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
We arrived 5 minutes before the Celebrate the Magic pre-show and had a great view. We were at the back of the fp area and enough people had moved forward that we didn't have anyone blocking our view. And we were able to get out of the area quickly when it was all over, beating the crowds. It was great. I loved showing up late, too. :)

If you take the fp viewing area on the right, near Tomorrowland Terrace, you can make a quick exit down the special exit that they open behind Main Street. it was really quick and we beat the crowds out. :) It was a better view than the dessert party had, too. :)

Alright - y'all convinced me to book a Wishes FP. What is this special exit? Do you have to ask to go that way or are they directing you? That would be great to beat the crowds out!!!!

It is located next to the Plaza it's a path behind Mainstreet that leads to the front of the park emptying guests in Town Square near Tony's.

They open it when MK is crowded or they need to let many people in or out so yes it's usually open after Wishes. You will see CM's standing at the entrance. If robo comes in here he has a nice map.

If I can get a FP+ for Wishes, where would you suggest I watch MSEP from?
Last year we had both and didn't have to change locations. While I would love that again, doesn't sound ideal nor an easy option

If you go to the fp area on the right, the area closest to Tomorrowland, you'll see an entrance/exit to the fp area toward the back, the end that is close to the Plaza restaurant. You can watch the fireworks from a spot inside the fp area that is close to that back exit. When the fireworks are over, just head out that exit. It will lead you to the back exit behind Main Street. I checked it all out earlier in the day, looking to see where the exits were, so I was prepared to head out the exit as soon as the last firework went off. :)

Feels like cattle being herded without the prod... moooooooooooooooooooo

We used FP+ for Wishes for the 24 hr event. We arrived about 8:30ish, and it was a lot more crowded than I had expected it to be that early. But we were able to get a spot along the back railing, with Casey's behind us. There is a walkway between this FP area and Casey's that CMs patrolled (a CM every 3'!!) making sure no one stood there. They also had the backstage door (by the restrooms and First Aid area) open for those exiting after.
We sat for a bit but did stand for the fireworks. The did Wishes first, for some reason (maybe the approaching storm) and then Celebrate a bit after Wishes. Most people around us were very pleasant. The only time I felt squished was when a dad came along, with his dd in a wheelchair....then stood right in front of us, and his dd stood as well, leaving the wheelchair about 8'' in front of me!!! Then, there was the woman who jumped two railings to get into this area....the CM was yelling, I asked her what she was doing there since she had taken the spot I had been leaning on 30 seconds prior (I moved to take a photo of my dd and her friend). She said she was too squished where she was, and that she had been right there all along. Funny, but I don't remember leaning against her for that 20 mins! I told her she needed a FP for this area...she got snippy, saying she had no idea what I was talking about. I told her to 'Begone..you have no right here.' She ran off, into the crowd.
Other than that, things worked out great. The regular lamp posts didn't bother me. But the taller work lights (that they're using in the hub area) were in the way of some really good shots. But, if you were just watching the fireworks, they were no huge issue.

:rotfl:I love that! I see what you did there....Glad nobody dropped a house on her ;)

Can anyone just run me thru the timing of what it would be like to do fp+ for msep and wishes? My family is asking for both despite my better judgement and I'm trying to grasp how it would work time wise, as far as what time to get to msep viewing, when the parade passes, when we would get to wishes viewing area, and when celebrate the magic would start. Thanks for any help!

Arrive at Town Square FP+ parade viewing area 30+ minutes before MSEP start-time.

As the parade ends at Town Square, step into the street behind the end of the parade and follow close behind it
until you reach the Hub (after you pass by Casey's and The Plaza.)

Walk to either of the Wishes FP+ viewing areas.

Wait about 15-20 minutes for Celebrate the Magic to begin.

About 5 minutes after Celebrate the Magic, Wishes will begin.

Below is a "work-in-progress" of my overview of the new Hub. Some of the "outer" sidewalks shown have not been built yet. Some of the unfinished areas have since been finished. The original photo is by Scott Keating, posted on WDWMagic.

We have a Wishes FP for June 27. Do you have to exit right away? We'd like to hang out a bit until the crowds disperse & then head back into the park for a couple more hours. Will they make us empty out the area?

You never have to exit right away after Wishes.
Nothing else will be happening in those areas, and they cease to be "reserved" as soon as Wishes is over.
But, I, personally, would likely find another place to sit and relax as the MK crowd disperses.
