Has anyone done Walt's Footsteps tour recently?

Am I correct that they no longer take you in to the apartment or the lobby of Club 33? I'm 99% positive I'm going to do this tour regardless of where they take us but to be honest I was bummed when I heard they no longer go in the apartment.

You get to visit the dream suite instead, we took the tour two years ago and my DD really enjoyed seeing his apartment as she is a big fan and has read his biography several times over. I am not sure if we'd do it now with the change because he never stayed in the dream suite - so it's not really walking in his footsteps any more but many people have taken it recently and report back they really enjoyed it.

Thank you sherilaine! The dream suite I'm sure is super cool. I'm bummed about not seeing Walt's actual suite but I think the tour itself will still be worth it. This is our first visit and I'm hoping to do the tour on our first day to help give us lay of the land!

We did this tour last Friday and you don't let to go into Club 33 or Walt's Apartment anymore. The Dream Suite was quite amazing but I would have loved to go into the apartment. It was very enjoyable. We went on two rides, It's A Small World and Alice in Wonderland.

We did this tour in 2013 and loved it, fortunately we were able to go up to his apartment and went into the lobby of Club 33 (both were amazing). When we return in June, my DH and I have already decided that we want to take the tour again (we both love Walt Disney and his history), and even though we are bummed that we can't go to his apartment or Club 33, we are excited to see the Dream Suite. I know it isn't something that he actually stepped foot in, however, it's still something that he had a vision for but just didn't get to see through...kind of like WDW.

I would have loved to have seen the apartment. Why don't they let you go in there?

They don't take you even in the courtyard entrance of the new Club 33?

Which rides are people getting with the tour. I thought it was Peter Pan. I am going to feel really cheated if they take me on Small World. I've never had to wait to ride Small World but the wait time for Peter Pan is usually over 45 min.

The tour is 3 and half hours? Does that include eating? You order before the tour? Any suggestions as to what to order? And then eat at Town Hall at the end of the tour?

When I took this tour in 2014, we were told two reasons why the apartment is no longer on the tour, 1. It is not ADA compliant. They were remodeling it to be so, however, that brings me to 2. The wear and tear on the room was starting to become apparent. The CM mentioned it would most likely not be coming back on the tour.

I should add, that the furniture, etc in the room are reproductions, the originals are in the lobby of the Walt Disney Family Museum in SF.

Also, the Dream Suite was all done to Walt's plans, he did not live to see it finished.

They give you a choice of meals, I had a sandwich of some sort, but the chocolate cake was amazing, it was at the Jolly Holiday.

I remember riding Peter Pan, and seeing Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln

I did this tour on July 1st this year, and it was wonderful. I would TOTALLY do it again - indeed, I intend to! For one thing, our tour group was only three - another couple and me. Our guide (the terrific Anna Marie) said it was absolutely the smallest group she'd had in more than a year of doing the tour - and she was delighted to be able to ride the attractions with us. We were supposed to do Alice and HM, but HM was down at the time so we did PotC instead. The pin they give you (there are two, actually - the button you wear, and the souvenir pin you get at the end) is fantastic. The dream suite is AMAZING. I SO want to do glass tile with fiberoptic lighting in my bathroom, now! While I'd have liked to have seen Walt's apartment, honestly, the dream suite is FULL of Disney magic. I loved it so much!

Thanks! Yes, I guess Walt's apartment is not handicap accessible and I'll be happy with the Dream Suite! And I like Alice but was hoping for Peter......
