I've read that if you can't get overlapping FP times for your group, you can select FPs for two different times for the same attraction (i.e. 10:00 to 11:00 and 2:30-3:30). At 10:00, you go to the first FP scanner and tap your band. You then leave the line. As long as you don't tap at the second scanner, the FP will still be active and won't show as redeemed. At 2:30, you and the members of your group who have the 2:30 time return to the scanner and all tap your MBs and proceed through the line.

Has anyone attempted this method in practice? If so, how did it work for you?

Wouldn't the system or a CM stop you when you try and go back through the line at 2:30 when it shows your FP isn't for that timeframe?

If this worked ... wouldn't that mean you could just (at any ride) .. tap your MB at the first scanner, leave the line ..and just go back to that ride ANY time later in the day because your FP was "active" but not redeemed? (no matter if you are with a group or not).

How would you book FPs for two different times for the same attraction?

Edit: Nevermind. Sounds like you booking one time for some people, another time for others.

I agree with tlmadden73. How do you plan on getting past the first scanner if your FP is for 10:00?

A CM who used to post here (The Hub) said that you just walk up and tap your band. You can walk into the first part of the queue and then leave or just turn around and leave. You just need to tap the first scanner so that it turns green, apparently. This would assume that a few people in your party had FPs for 10:00 and a few had FPs for 2:30. Only the people with 10:00 FPs would tap the first scanner. They would leave the line. Everyone (with 10:00 and 2:30 FPs) would then return at 2:30. Allegedly, the people with 10:00 FPs will get a green Mickey again, as they never redeemed the FP, so it is still active.

I have never tried this method, but The Hub's info was always very good, and I will likely need to try out this method in November for A&E, so I am curious if anyone has had success with this.

I understand a little better now, it's more about riding together, not necessarily squeezing more FPs into the day. I wonder if the 10:00 FP holders would be able to use their 2nd fastpass until after they ride with the 2:30 FP holders. Sounds reasonable, perhaps it was set up to allow for emergency bathroom breaks while waiting in line or something similar.

Correct. It is about riding together. I was online at midnight to book my FP's for my Thanksgiving trip, but unfortunately, availability for A&E was poor. It is just me and my three-year-old who want to do this together. In the past, I just needed one FP, as DD didn't have a park ticket or MB, so she could just go in with me on my FP. Now, I need two FPs, and I was only able to get them for different times. I'm still trying to move them around, but if all else fails, I'll be trying this method.

The CM said that this is built into the system so that if you get out of line (for a bathroom break or any other reason), they can rejoin the line and the FP is still active. Once you touch the second tapstile, the FP is redeemed, and you can't get out of line. But if you haven't tapped the second Mickey, you can leave and then return. I'm hoping this will work...

Issue 1: The CM at the first tap, may make everyone tap individually.
Issue 2: Can you use your FP+ for a different attraction between 10 am and 2:30 pm? Or, would that cause the 10 am group to loose the ability to go through the second tap at the attraction at 2:30 pm?

I cannot see ever trying this, but these would be my concerns.

For Issue 1, only the people with 10:00 times would actually walk up to the attraction and tap the bands. They'd then leave the line before reaching the second tapstile and would rejoin their party outside the queue.
For Issue 2, you are supposed to still be able to use your other FPs, but I have no idea if it works in practice or not.

Fellow Disers I must warn you that Webmasters have issued a new posting policy. From now on any posts or threads that are trying to circumvent or posting any way to break Disney written policy. The post or thread will be deleted. This is a new policy that all moderators must enforce.Since I've seen no answers that give step by step way tp do this, I will not delete. :sad1: Danny:)

OP, I remember seeing that post from The Hub. (I knew it was a CM who posted it, but didn't remember which one.) His info always seemed spot-on. If you don't have a better alternative, it might be worth trying.

I can't think of a reason why the system would look at the 10:00-11:00 FP+ and not delete it at 11:00 (or 11:00 + some slack time) just because it was scanned at the first Mickey Head. If that is the case I think it is a mistake that an update would fix in pretty short order.
