I just saw that Northwest has a place to check in online up to 24 hours in advance, then you just print your boarding passes. Has anyone done this? Do I just go straight to the boarding area then? What did you think?

We do online check-in whenever it's available. You'll still have to check any non-carryon luggage, but that can be done at curbside. You'll show your boarding passes, plus your ID, then you can proceed directly through security to the gates. :thumbsup2
Having online check-in can save you a fair amount of time. :goodvibes
Good luck  .

Works like a dream! We use NWA online check in whenever possible.

We do too.

It has actually helped members of my family save major hassles on two occasions. O'Hare or United's computers were down some months back and they couldn't print passes. The only people allowed through security were those with pre-printed boarding passes.

And just a week plus ago, my DH tried to check my daughter and himself in the night before a transAtlantic flight. The site needed their passport numbers and that is when he discovered our daughter's passport had expired. Yikes! :crazy2: The next am was very hectic getting it renewed in Chicago but if not for trying the night before they would have showed up at O'hare and been out of luck!

we always use JetBlue and do on-line check in all the time...it's a fantastic tool! and as the above poster pointed out, it can save you lots of grief when you least expect it!

safe travels ....
