Has anyone done just Q&C vouchers on a trip and felt like you still got a decent food experience. I was lucky enough to get a 7 for 4 deal, but since we planned this kind of last minute, we have a strict budget. As much as I would love to try all the nicer restaurants, I just don't know if we can afford them. I was thinking of just getting 4 Q&C vouchers a day for my DH and I and then just getting a la carte items for my DD(3.5) and sharing with her. I understand sharing isn't a problem? We'll do breakfast in the room. I may break down and get one breakfast or dinner, but that's it. Also, do you need ressie's for the the Q&C type restaurants except maybe Beaches and Cream, right?

This is just my opinion, but I think that DH and I could be happy doing this. Especially if you aren't trying to "get a great deal" - i.e. $80 worth of food for $11.50 ;) . I think in EPCOT there are lots of great choices using the vouchers. I would recommend the China counter service and the Japanese counter service. Plus Beaches and Cream is easily accessible from EPCOT (even MGM for that matter). In MK, you could try Cosmic Rays and get chicken one meal, burgers for another and cheesesteak sandwiches another! We also got a decent deal at Columbia Harbour House in MK.

I am not sure where you are staying, but using them at Pepper Market is good too. They have SOOOOO many choices there that you could eat there every night and have something different. I am a very picky eater and there were several choices at PM that I considered.

Just some quick thoughts of mine. But we never usually eat at the "fancy" places like California Grill, etc. so take my opinions with that in mind.

ummm, I don't think any of the places that take the Q&C vouchers use reservations, including beaches and cream. at least thats been our experience.

Have you checked out the menu's on www.allearsnet.com ? You may be better off buying a la carte at many of the counter service places unless you are a big eater. I have only used vouchers at Beaches and Cream and they are a great deal there but there are only a couple of other places I would use them.

Also Animal Kingdom has a meal deal that is a great deal. For around $11 you get a combo meal + drink and two tickets to use for popcorn or ice cream and a bottled drink. Kids prices are around $5 and it's the best deal.

We usually eat at counter service restaurants with only a couple of sit down meals thrown in. It is still enjoyable and much more friendly on my wallet. Besides I don't like to waste all my park time eating or waiting to eat.

Beaches and Cream and Pepper Market give you fantastic deals for your voucher.

IMO, other places, you "may" save a little. However, not usually enough to justify purchasing vouchers and restricting yourself to eating at specific restaurants all week. Aside from our voucher use at B&C and PM we probably only saved (on average) a dollar a voucher.

Also, Disney gives you a lot of food for each meal. DH and I split a voucher almost everytime we used one. It would have been a waste (for us) to use 2 vouchers for each meal.

You also may want to consider sharing a meal at a nicer restaurant. I suggest that since you mentioned you wanted to try some of them.

For a nicer meal, I do suggest purchasing 1 adult and 1 child lunch voucher and using it at the Rainforest cafe. We fed the 4 of us on those 2 vouchers and had plenty left over. The vouchers cost us around $43??. Had we paid in cash with tax and tip it would have been around $75.00!

Have a great trip :)

Just back and our bill was 200 plus at Rainforest Cafe with taxes and tip and it cost us 1 adult and 3 kid vouchers. They are letting kids order off the adult menu. As a matter of fact they are encouraging it. I don't think the Q & C restrict you at all on where you can eat at WDW, just about everyone takes them..... :)

I would consider getting 1 adult voucher and 1 child voucher for a nice lunch at Rainforest Cafe. Your DD will love the atmosphere and the food is really good ... :)

Just to clarify:
The Q&C vouchers cannot be used at the Rainforest Café. The vouchers that you need to purchase for the RFC are the Vacation Kingdom Lunch vouchers (VKLs). VKLs are $31 per adult at Hotwire Savings Club.

I was able to make a priority seating at Beaches and Cream.

Thanks so much for all the responses(and the PM). I joined hotwire last week, so I could get some if needed. Sounds like the Rainforest Cafe with 2 VKL vouchers(adult and child) will be good for something a little nicer and a few of the Q&C for Beaches and maybe Pepper Market(we are staying at All Star Movies-is there some reason we can't go there?). I had looked at the menus and keep going back and forth because only a few places look worth it for my meal since I am not a huge eater, but I keep seeing where so many people suggest the vouchers. I guess there is the added bonus of having everything paid for upfront too.

Another small question while I'm on the restaurant subject is do the smaller counter service ones take credit cards? I want to make sure to use my DV so we get some rewards. Maybe I should just get some Disney Dollars(but not go overboard) before we go so I can get my reward dollars sooner?

I don't believe we ran into a counter service place that did not accept credit cards. You should have no problem there. I would take some cash with in case machines are down or something.

Wow, that is certainly something new. They've never accepted them before.

I also would like to add, that you should not bank on RFC allowing you to use the kids vouchers to order off the adult menu. It really depends on your server and the manager. We have eaten there twice in the last year with Vouchers. In June 03 we were able to order from the adult menu with the child's VKL. In Sept 03 we had to order off the kids menu, but were allowed the appetizer. I know others have reported similar experiences, so just something to be aware of.

I think there are plenty of options for the Q&C's to not feel restricted.

Making PS's at B&C must be very new!

mompoppins... Which RFC did you eat at? Just wondering if there is a difference of one over the other re: the vouchers...

Hi Tiffany ~ We ate at the RFC at Animal Kingdom. The downtown disney location does NOT take the lunch vouchers. I joined through hotwire and had no problem cancelling the program by phone after I received my vouchers.....:wave2:

Thanks for the reply mompoppins! We always eat at RFC at DD, so I'm wondering if they accept the larger vouchers? This sounds like a great idea! Wish I could get some without the hassle of joining a club...

You prob could bank on it. They have been doing that for at least two years. They actually encourage it.

I wonder if you can use a voucher AND still be able to get a free appetizer from the Safari Club? Has anyone tried this?
