Has anyone done Concierge?

I'm starting to gravitate towards this...I know it's pricey but I really really want to make this the trip of a lifetime for the kids. It's SUPER pricey! lol Honestly, my budget is about 9-10K, and with the 6 day park hopper pass and staying at the GCH w/ concierge, that brings my pkg to $6450, plus airfare, so about 7K for all that. Plus I have to add in dining, and other extra stuff.

Anyway, has anyone done the concierge upgrade? is it worth it? what do you get with it? I tried to do a search on here, but couldn't find any info.

I haven't done concierge but was reading your other thread. I love the idea of splurging for this trip. Stay on property!! It enhances the magic tenfold.

That last link that Specialks just posted was to a thread started by Pycees312. She has done all 3 hotels' concierge, so it would be great if she could jump in here and share some of her wisdom and comparisons between the 3.

Bumbershoot has also done the DLH concierge, I think. DizMe has done concierge at the GCH, I believe. There are lots of DIS-ers here who will probably jump in and offer info.

I have actually heard that the PPH concierge is quite good, and have considered doing it myself but haven't yet.

Yes, I've done GCH concierge 3 times. The first was accidental, as I'd booked DLH concierge. However, they were working on their lounge or something and they called me a few days before our trip and told me they'd move us to GCH concierge instead (for the same price ). We were delighted!! My kids LOVED it. We made so much use of the lounge that I'd have to say we really got our money's worth, but we had a full crowd. We had 2 rooms/7 people, one of whom was my 77-year-old mother. I thought the lounge would be nice for her so she could relax, read, etc without being stuck in a hotel room. Turns out it was wonderful for all of us and we spent a LOT more time there than I would have imagined. With 7 people, we would have spent a lot more on food had we not been able to take advantage of all of the offerings. There was food all day! I think my girls ate their weight in chocolate-covered strawberries.

I've also gone with friends and family. We share one room so it's pretty worthwhile because we eat so much in the lounge and split the cost 4 ways . I do get the AP promo rate when we do it, though. I could never spend $600+ just for a concierge room.

As Sherry said, I've heard that PPH has a good concierge offering and I've been tempted to try it because it's such a good deal compared to the other 2 hotels, but I've not done it yet. I've tried to book DLH concierge but it's always closed when I want to do it.

We have done the CGH Concierge three times now. I would say if you can swing it do it. We had breakfast and lunch there every day. The kids loved the Milk and cookies and story every night. The older folks engoyed the wine and cheese in the evening. We had a group of 6 and I would say it was worth it.

I have done DLH concierge twice and GCH concierge 3-4 times. I LOVE GCH concierge!! The lounge is large and never seemed crowded! Plenty at breakfast for everyone - a tip, they do have yogurt but you have to ask. The tea sandwiches out each day (salmon, turkey & veggie) were enough to fill us up for lunch. The happy hour is where they really shine! 2 hot apps and lots of cold apps, munchies, chocolate covered strawberries, wine, beer and then they follow with desserts and after dinner drinks. You can watch the fireworks from the balcony. We took food and drinks back to our room so our fridge was always stocked. Everyone loaded their backpacks with bottled waters or juices to take in the parks - it is awesome! And don't know how old your kids are but they do storytelling each night with cookies and milk! You have access to their DVD library to take back to your room and the lounge CM's can help with any last minute ressies or changes that you need.

While I liked the DLH concierge lounge, it was smaller and more crowded. It also had a good view of the fireworks but we were never able to find a seat to watch them! Now, it is under going renovation along with the rooms so I will be curious to see what it looks like when it reopens. If you can do it, I say go for it!

We have never thought to do it because figured it was waaaay too expensive, but someone told my husband recently it was $100 a night. That doesn't seem like it could be right based on what you get...

AP does not make a difference. They may have been referring to the price to add on when you have a suite. If you have a suite, it is $150/night at the GCH, $125/night at the DLH and $100/night at the PPH. The rooms are more depending on the the cost of the room.

We've also done GCH concierge..it was great..they have so many food offerings we really did cut way down on our food cost. Especially appreciated was the wine and beer at night
