I need 2 crowns, and interested in the cerec method for a same day crwon.

Do you have one, or know someone who does?

Are they as good as an "old fashioned" crown?

I do have one that I got recently. It was nice to get it right away and not have a temporary. It was expensive, but of course all crowns are expensive. It does seem a little different than my other crowns, kind of a hollow sound/feel when I brush my teeth. hard to explain.

Is it comfortable? Would you do the one-day again?

I've never had any issues with comfort. It doesn't seem as polished as some other crowns, but I'm very picky about that sort of thing. Whether or not I would do it again would be more determined by what my dentist preferred to do. I'm looking for a new dentist, one that is in my insurance play (crowns are too expensive) and I wouldn't base my choice of dentists on whether or not they did them in-office.

My dentist didn't give me a choice when I got the recent crown. Just said that's how they do them.

I had two cerec crowns done a week ago. These were my first crowns so I can't compare to a regular crown, nor can I say it was a wonderful experience. But, given the choice of dealing with it over two visits vs one, I would definitely choose one. My appointment took about 2 1/2 hours, and my jaw was very very tired from being open almost the entire time. But it's over. Good luck. :grouphug:

I've had two done in-office, but none the old way so I don't have anything to compare them to. One is three years old, the other was done last year. They are both just like regular teeth, I don't really think about them anymore. I guess that's a yes vote.

I have two crowns done with the old method and 3 Cerec crowns. One of the Cerecs I had done over a year ago and have never had any trouble with it. I think it looks much better and more like a real tooth than the old fashioned crowns I have. I think my old crowns are very obviously crowns whereas the Cerec ones look more natural. I just had the other 2 Cerecs put in on the same day a week ago. Yes, plan on being in the dentist chair for a long time but you do get to rest some while you wait in between steps. It is much better than coming back for that second visit. It was also nice having both done at the same time so I only had to be numbed once. The worst part of going to the dentist for me is getting that shot. My appointment took 2.5 hours and my jaw was sore for several days but now everything feels great. My mouth is very small and they were working on the back teeth so I contribute the soreness to that. My dentist swears the Cerec is better than conventional crowns and stronger long term.
