We are staying in the Yacht Club in Dec. and are planning on eating at the Captains Grill, but haven't found much info about it. Any reviews?

I would love to hear to. I'm going in a month but don't hear much on this only spoke to a CM and said it was really good.

The food selection reminded me of a Denny's. I would just think of it as a quick bite to eat rather than a dining experience.

Are you speaking from experience or do you mean from looking at the menu?

We enjoy breakfast there when staying at BCV. We also had dinner there in May and have had lunch there in the past...different name.

It's a quiet spot with good food. Not a California Grill experience but quite pleasant. One gentleman was raving about the seafood stew or some such dish. One of us will have to try that next time.

You just made me feel a lil better. Ty. :)

Yes, I ate there the first week of July (a few weeks ago.) The food was your standard Arrow/Sysco frozen and then warmed variety. It was eerily not busy which makes me wonder how long the "fresh" items such as salads sit around.

Try it for yourself, but don't think of it as "nice" dinner, it is just mediocre restaurant, that doesn't set itself apart in any way shape or form.

I hope you enjoy it. It's far better than a Denny's IMO. I wonder if she meant that the menu was sort of eclectic? A bit of everything?

We all enjoyed our dinners very much. I wouldn't order the spinach dip again because it was too salty for me but others in my family enjoyed it.

Thanks for chiming in. Not sure if the other poster ate there or is just commenting on the menu.

We eat here often....esp when staying at the BWV or BCV. We love this place. We can get a nice lunch there for a good price. I love their fish and chips for lunch. It's huge. Just recently they changed their dinner menu and it looks really good. We are heading back in a couple of weeks and this place is always on our must do list. We've eaten here several times for dinner before the recent menu change and the meal was good. The only negative I can say is that service is very slow moving, so go if you have time to relax and just have a nice meal.

Well I guess I am going to try it. Hey if we don't like it we won't go back.
I am trying to do all the resturants we never did. My thing is now try everything once.

The great thing about disboards is EVERYONE can express an opinion. Sorry my opinion is a dissenting one. All I can say is unless this place has a major overhaul, we won't be returning. :rolleyes1 There is a cornucopia of great restaurants in the Boardwalk area to choose from to have a so-so meal.

Yes we have! To see pics of breakfast click on my Oct and April link and for dinner just the April link.

We liked the menu breakfast but not the buffet breakfast and dinner was soooo good.

We've had lunch and dinner here several times over the last few trips. It's a consistently good choice. I love the mozzarella sandwich! Can't get that at Denny's!!!

We ate here a couple of times when it was the Yacht Club Galley. It was good enough. It wasn't bad at all, just nothing to write home about. It is a good place to use a TS when all else is booked! We were at the BCV last September and had no where else to use our last meal.

Here is a quote from the DIS Dining page and a link to the page:

NOTE: Formerly the Yacht Club Galley

This locale is a DIS favorite and comes highly recommended.

It accepts the Disney Dining Experience discount and is part of the Disney Dining Plan.

I have an ADR there for Dec. I hope the DIS page is right!

Everybody has there own opinions I know that. With that said I'm keeping it and we shall see. Let you know how it it when I get back. :)

There is no need to apologize for a dissenting opinion. I agree that reading different opinions is one of the beauties of this board.

Our one meal there was very good. We walked in one night without an ADR, were seated immediately, had a nice, efficient waiter, and good fresh food.

I would return. Like another poster said, it isn't the Cali Grille, but it's a good meal.
