Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

ok i have this weird thought... i personally have never used the gel polish before but the word gel to me sounds like it would be more flexable and harden harder?:rotfl2: that sounds weird. Ok anyways do you think the gel top coat would crack like the regular top coat does?

Honestly not sure what would happen with gel coat but remember that gel Polish can not go on a smooth surface u first need to use a nail file to make some groves so it can stick on. So I don't think that would be worth using

We just got back from a split stay in February. We got bands for both parts of our stay.

We booked a bounceback for December. When I look at the magic bands part of my disney experience, it asks me which band from February I want to use for my December trip. I'm not positive, but it doesn't look like I will get new bands (at least not automatically) for December.

Just something to keep in mind when you are decorating your bands. Make sure it's not so "trip specific" that you woulnd't want to use it on your next trip.

Just wanted to say that I continue to be amazed at the work all of you have done. Still wishing I would have found this thread before I went in December. I can't wait until I get to go back! pixiedust:

Our first set is done. The yellow one has a very subtle glitter polish. I wanted something cute for F&G. DD loves hers. It really fits her personality.

This thread is so great and everyone is so creative! I can't wait to get our bands now. DBF doesn't think he wants his band decorated but I've got a great idea for mine! Keep up the awesome work!!

These are all amazing!

Would someone mind to give me the dimensions of the band? I know there is a post with a photo of a template on it, but I'm not sure how to print that, or to know if the dimensions I am printing are correct.

Thanks all!

I've got a new set of magic bands, so I measured one for everyone who is planning.

Length is 10 1/2 inches

Widest width is 1 inch (right at the Mickey face)

From the middle of the Mickey to the end with the little Mickey (colored end) is 4.3 inches

From the middle of the Mickey head to the end with the holes (notches for snapping band closed) is 6.3 inches.

Length of the colored part (not the grey area) is 7.9 inches.

Also, know that the bands don't lay flat~

Hope that helps!

Thank you, thank you!!! I so appreciate you taking the time to do this! :goodvibes:goodvibes

So the full band is 10.5 inches and I read that the band with the back removed is 7 inches. Can you adjust them to somewhere in between. My wrist is about 6 3/4 inches so I'm thinking the 7 inch might be too tight/sweaty, but the 10.5 inches will be way too big!

I was right between the two sizes. I ended up keeping it bigger. I was glad I did so I could wear it looser and not be sweaty. It didn't feel too big. I used either the last colored hole or the first grey one most if the time.

Are they really expensive to decorate? I'm not sure I'm going to spend money on that. I like my pink band the way it is

Thanks! That's what I was thinking too. I hate even wearing my watch in July because its so sticky out!

Totally agree, the small band fits around my wrist, but using the last hole on the grey band was much more comfortable. :thumbsup2

It depends on what you want to do to it and how many materials you already have. I have a *ton* of nail polish, in all different colors. I rarely wear red/pink polish. I have about 4 bottles of clear coat and several glitter, too. I could, theoretically, not spend any money to decorate our bands.

I am buying a couple packages of temp tattoos though, so that will put me out about $10. I'm also using it as an excuse to buy nail art pens, which will cost another $15-$20. :cool2:

re: whether to keep the band big or go small...I was right in between the two sizes and decided to stay big too. I'm glad I did! It gave me more flexibility to adjust the size, and from a decorating perspective you have more to work with if you keep the outer band there. I loved the way my band looked with a silver border.
