I have booked with Virgin to stay at the Marriott Village in LBV at the Springhill Suites. I want to change my booking to stay at the All Star Movies instead. Does anyone know if they charge for doing this and how much it is. Also does anyone know how much it is to hire a fridge in the All Star Movies.

Unfortunately we have changed our holiday twice with virgin this year. and 1 last year.

Each time we have changed something it has cost us £25 each, so £75 everytime.

Our TA was good though the waived our fee once as our booking entailed a higher cost.

Do not get us wrong, we do not normally change our holidays, but due to myself waiting to start a new job we have had to move so we can have a holiday this year. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Can not remember the cost of hiring a fridge, approx $10 i think.

Hi, do you mind me asking why you are wanting to change? We have booked with virgin to stay at Springhill suites at LBV and was just curious.

Hi

My DH doesnt really want to change but the difference in money is only about £250 to change to the All Star Movies but then there is the price of hiring a fridge to add on and also this £75 booking amendement. We have always stayed off site and just think our DS who is nearly 6 would love it better. Really not sure what to do.

Have you checked the prices, ie fly drive with virgin and book hotel seperate, with disney direct, themselves

We did this last year and saved money. And we were able to add on the dining plan

Just an idea :thumbsup2

I know what you mean we took ages to decide, but the difference on our holiday was quite a bit more than that so we decided to stay off site again and said maybe when our youngest DS2 is older we will stay at disney when they are both old enough to remember it. Also this time there is another family going with us and there's 5 of them so they wanted a bit more room.
I am sure whatever you decide you will have a fab time.

I have amended our holidays with VH before and as long as the total new price is higher than the original then I have never been charged the £25 amendment fee. As has been said its $10 plus tax a day for a fridge int he value resorts.

Claire ;)

Hi sunminnie,

Is there any particular reason you want to hire a fridge? There may be strategies we can suggest to avoid this unless you feel you really must have one.

If it's for medication then WDW should let you have one free anyway, if for keeping drinks cool then we find a cheap large polystyrene cooler which we fill with ice onc a day is perfect for keeping drinks cool :)

Hi miffy.

Its just for some alcoholic drinks and wine for around the pool for the nights we dont go into disney. We have only ever stayed off site in suites with fridges but i would love to stay on site as my DS6 would absolutely love All Star Movies. Any advice would be really appreciated.

I changed my booking with virgin to stay onsite this year and they only charged me the difference between the original booking and the new one i didn't get charged the £25 fee.

I believe that as long as the new price is higher by more than the amendment fee they are willing to waive it. If the new price is the same or lower they will charge it.

rember you get free parking when you stay on site , price a Mod resort as well because you get a free fridge there

there are ice buckets in the value resorts if it is only for wine

enjoy the planning :wizard:

:confused3 Why can't we be happy  with what we firsted booked
i would love to change all my details too :confused3

Hi

I really think it all depends on who you speak to on the phone at the time of changing the booking. I phoned them changing my wedding plans and was told I would get charged an admin fee, when I got put through to the customer services he did not mention any extra charges and I even got 10% FVD off my wedding - which according to Virgin you don't get. So I kept quite on that one. :teeth:

My mum called the day after booking to make an amendment and she was charged the fee of £25 each!

The thing was it was so far in advance, they couldn't even give her flight times - what a joke! :sad2:

I agree with jns, if it is for drinks I would go down the ice bucket with ice in route. If you find the ice bucket too small, you could always use the bin ;)
