Has anyone changed dates without insurance?

I may have to change from the week we were planning on going to the next week. The change would be from Sept 29- Oct 7 to Oct 6-Oct 14. I do not have the insurance. Has anyone here ever changed dates like that without the insurance? Were there any problems. I also have MNSSHP tickets for Oct 2. I could sell these to someone going that week - so that's not a very big deal, but do you think they would rescedule that as well? Just looking for some advice before I know for sure if anyone can help...

Do you have a room-only or package reservation? Room only reservations can be canceled or changed much closer to the date than a package. Last year my travel agent told me that there is a difference between canceling and changing the date. I didn't have to do this but she said if I was changing the date and it was past the date I could make changes at no charge there was a fee. If I canceled then I lost a lot more money.

Are you flying to Orlando? Airline cancelation rules vary by airline.

If you used a travel agent I would call that person right away. If not then call the Disney Reservation number. They should be able to tell you the rules.

I have a room and ticket package. It may not be an issue, but I wanted to get some advice just in case. I do not want to cancel - I just want to change. We moved our dates back a day to get the free dining...I'm guessing I will lose that (and will have to pay for the plan now). I am flying in. I just wondered if anyone had moved dates so I knew how hard it would or wouldn't be if the issue arises.
