Has anyone camped in April? How are the crowds? My husband thinks I've finally gone mad but I want to camp again the week of April 10th to the 16th, are the spring break crowds going to be crazy? I'm sure the weather is good, I'm just worried about the crowds. Hubby has tapped out on those dates so it will just be me and my big kids, what do you think? Good time bad time?:cool2:

It will be crowded but not as bad as the following 3 weeks.

Now-a-days, spring breaks are scattered all over the calendar from March through Easter. I guess it will depend on how many schools are using that week for their break.

Touring plans shows the crowd at 5 for the 10th and level 8 for 11 - 16th. On Sunday the 17th, it jumps to 10 (max level). In comparison, according to Touring Plans, it will be more crowded that week you chose, than the first 2 weeks of June.

where are you getting that wonderful info? A website? I'd love to see it! I will surely plan around the "10" days, even though we arent taking the babies this trip, mom has a short fuse and would rather not stand in line for extended periods of time, I'm not a spring chicken anymore!

I will be camping down there during that time. We are only planning on going to the parks in the morning and having lunch somewhere then going back to the Fort to hang out with our dogs.

It will be the first time in the camper for that long of a trip, both driving and duration of stay. We are still trying to figure out how we are going to keep everything organized.

We were there April 19-26 2010 and it was not crowded at all, I think most of the Spring Break crowds had finished by then. The weather was great...

Yea, trying to figure this all out myself, I want to get over to Universal sometime during the week, I'm a closet Harry Potter Fan :rotfl2:

edit: well crapola, seems you have to subscribe:sad2: to get the data, I was going to look up the crowds from June 5-11th

Our 2005 Fort trip was March 29 thru April 14th crowds were way down

the first couple of days then heavier during Easter break, but not bad.

I think it is an excellent time to go. Funny, the only time we have ever

used our heater in the TT was during that trip, lows were in the lower

forties. :thumbsup2

I had read somewhere else that someone went during this period and the crowds were down.. I mentioned the words "spring break" and "orlando" in the same sentence and the ol' man said no way, you are on your own, glad to know I didnt dream that up!

We also went to Universal for two days (First time) and it also had no big crowds. We saw Potter but it was not open yet. It was a nice change..

Maybe Ftwildernessrick can hook up up;) PLEASE RICK!!:worship: (June 6-11)

Just let me know what days & I can let you know what they say. They are fairly accurate and do their calculations from historical & current data.

One of the advantages of joining is if you have a droid phone, they have an app. that allows access to real wait times for those members. For instance, right now Peter Pan has a 57 minute wait and all Fast Passes have been distributed for the day.

ohhhh you said the magic word.. "app" however, I dont have the driod, I have the iphone, I have the wait times one, the dining one and the maps one.. but no crowd levels, darn you AT&T!!

you might want to remember that Easter is really late this year (the last week in April) so that is going to make the whole month of April pretty booked

something to consider
