Has anyone bought DVC whilst out there?

Thanks all for the advice,

We do have the money to pay for around £30,000 worth of points if we decide to do DVC BUT,
We have researched tho for quite a while and think that we will buy around 200/250 worth of points as like I said we do 3 wks every other year and so we can bank and borrow which will give us the 500 we want every other yr to do the 3wks!

Also if we decided to go every it we would do 1 year cash to get free DDP ( while they at offering it) and then the other DVC I think this will work well,
Like I said our accommodation easily comes to around £6/7000 each trip and so we don't think that it's a bad price since we are not financing it, and we have taken into consideration the annual dues, even with these we will have broke even with in 4 years of use!
We won't always need DDP as like I said our boys are getting older they are now 8,8,& nearly 11 so character buffets won't be a must for us, and although we love our signature meals and Disney restaurants we will get the TIW card....

We may even do smaller trips if we live in the US
Resale sounds good for what we want as we don't want to use it for cruises ( cash is much better for them) an we don't want to holiday with our points anywhere but Disney,

Are you sure 200/250 will get you three weeks every other year? We have 375 and the most we can do is 15 nights every other year.

Depending on the type off accommodation and when she wants to stay but 3 weeks is possible.

Three weeks in a one bed at OKW is 479. AKV is slightly less.
