I Live In New Jersey & Looking To Go On Voyager Of The Seas Out
Of New York Next July.Has Anyone Booked A Cruise For Next Summer,& What Prices Did You Get?What Travel Agent? :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

My family has a reservation on the Voyager of the Seas for December 2004 out of Miami. I went through their website and then my travel agent and got the same price. For 2 adults and 2 children in a D9 (Superior Ocean View with Verandah) it is $2,800. Hope this helps.

we thought about going in Oct 04 , and actually got pricing from our TA - for cat TR (atrium view stateroom) the pricing was $1900 for DW and I ...

Note that cat. TR only accommodates 2

Big Daddy...I just got the AAA car and travel magazine. I don't know if you are a member or not. BUT, the AAA cruise on the Voyager is sailing out on NY on July 2nd. The price is $1,368 per person (don't know what category that price is for) it includes AAA members only cocktail party, AAA escorts, (don't know what that entails) Special onboard gifts, Up to $50 per cabin shipboard credit.

AAA has an annual cruise out of NY every year. Usually it is the Celebrity line to Bermuda. Of course, anyone (member or not) can book that cruise. But I don't know the prices for non members.

It's funny, but everyone says DCL is more expensive, but I have yet to see any cruise out of NY beat DCL's prices, even considering airfare for 4, DCL is still cheaper.

Hope that helps
Joanna

Cruises in general are less expensive than DCL, but NOT most cruises out of NYC. That figures. lol Sometimes you can get decent rates on last-minute deals on cruises out of NYC, but then you're taking your chances by waiting that long.

We are going on Voyager out of NYC in summer 2005 and I'm hoping the rates will be a little better than what I've seen for next summer. Also keep in mind, that cruise is a 9 night cruise, not 7.

Also, you have to make sure you're comparing similar type staterooms when you compare prices. I did a lot of research before deciding on DCL for next summer, and there were a lot of cruises out NYC that would've been less $$$ (specifically NCL's cruise to Bermuda, and RCI's cruise to Bermuda), and I wouldn't have had to buy airfare, but I found out that the Disney cruise is well worth the money, since we'll have DSs with us. :)

Seaspray, also those ships to Bermuda you mentioned are older vessels and much smaller than DCL.

Joanna: That's correct, and to fit the 4 of us comfortably we'd need two cabins. On DCL the 4 of us will fit comfortably in just one. There isn't much for teens to do on those cruises either.

The more I try to find a different line to try, the more I think DCL isn't that expensive. Cruises that I expected to be very inexpensive turn out to be really high. I think the 5th person really makes the price jump, but booking early on DCL seems not to be an unreasonable rate.

Is it the veranda that makes DCL seem so expensive? We have only cruised on DCL and I have thought about trying RCL, but we are all so happy with DCL and I think we would be sorry if we switched. We only use the inside rooms on DCL because the veranda rooms are so expensive. We don't spend much time in our room, so I think the price for a veranda would be wasted on us.

Anyway, just wondering if that was what made DCL seem to expensive to everyone. I have no idea what other cruise lines cost since DCL is the only one we have ever be on and ever looked into for pricing.

We booked the Mariner for 10/10/04 7 night Western. There are 5 of us so I booked one the the family Ocean view state rooms. It is about $3,100.00 for all of us. I could only book these rooms throug RCCL directly. Not many TAs could help with these.

We booked for June 2004 w/ the Mariner. We are family of 5 and I got 2 rooms, one w/ Promenade view (only sleeps 2) and one w/ balcony that sleeps 3. I got a better deal than w/ RCCL directly because I booked through a group cruise deal for our sailing date. Saved about 550. doing it this way. Got both rooms for about 5500. 2 of similar rooms w/ DCL cost us about 7500-8000.00

We're giving the NY cruises a once over next year. We've been waiting for the newer, bigger ships to sail from there. We have a two bedroom suite on the NCL Dawn in February (about the same as we just paid for two Cat. 5 on Disney for two adults and two kids). We'll be back on the Dawn in August as well... same accomodations.

We'll also be sailing the RCL Voyager in May on a 5 night Canadian. We have a Balcony stateroom for about $1700 total for two adults.

Dollar for dollar, both lines offer a better value than Disney. From what I've read on the other boards, service, food, etc. are all comparable.

i will never go RCCL cause my frist cruise on the wonder we had a family from ohio that went RCCL and they said that DCL was 10 times better then RCCL.
