Has anyone booked 7-night 9/3/05 with DU?

I checked prices with Dreams Unlimited thru this website last Thur. and they were advertising a REALLY great rate. So, I requested a quote. When they finally got back to me on Mon. the quote was MUCH higher. When I asked about the huge increase they said only a few cabins were available at the advertised rate. I feel I've been a victim of "bait and switch". If anyone has booked the 9/3/05 with Dreams Unlimited over the week-end at the REALLY great listed rate, please let me know. The rate's not even listed now. It would be nice to know somebody got a good deal, even if it wasn't me.

In defense of DU - I have been watching the prices for a 2006 cruise - pricing out different days, but with one specific 7-day cruise in mind. I price it over the DCL website - and it went up $300 in a 24- hour period. It must be based upon how fast that particular cruise is filling up.

I know EXACTLY which cruise you're talking about. I was surprised when I saw it on there too (and if I wasn't cruising in 2006, I would've jumped on it). My first thought was that is was a major typed error, but I thought that if they advertise it, they should honor it. I was thinking bait and switch also. (the prices for that week were actually cheaper than the 4day trip). As much as I wanted to book, I was wondering if anyone else had noticed it also. Shame they won't give you that price. It wasn't just one category of rooms either, all the prices were half of what they normally are then.

I understand prices change, sometimes dramaticly, in a short amount of time. But, this was $1100 more, and I feel I requested the quote soon enough that had someone responded that day, I too could have gotten that rate. After all, the prices were still posted at least the next day. That why I thought probably nobody got the listed price.

Does anyone know of a TA that price matches? I did print out the cheap rate, just in case.

Good idea to print the rate so they can't dispute it. I think they should honor it. I saw those rates also and they were on there for a few days, and since DU only does emails, they should do the right thing. JMO. ( Wish we could have done it, 6 of us could have done a 7day in Cat. 11 for $2000.) If it were me, I'd consider it a bait and switch, since you emailed them that day and printed up the rates. I'd love to dispute it, but the last e-mail I received from DU said,
"Per our disclaimer on our site--pricing is subject to availability and space is limited---sorry. "
What else can I do? I called my local AAA and they don't price match.

That's why I wondered if anyone booked at this rate. At least then I would know it was legitimate, I just didn't ask in time. But, if nobody booked that rate, I think it would be "bait and switch". Of course, I still wouldn't know what I could do about it.

Shoot John at DU an email. He was very helpful to us when we noticed some price issues. He took the time to explain the situation as it pertained to us and and our travel plans and dates. It doesn't hurt to ask questions. Good Luck!!!

I booked three cabins on the 5/27/06 Castaway Cay Double Dip Cruise through DU this weekend. Initially I just wanted to see how they compared to booking directly through DCL. They were able to get one of the cabins for $800 less than the DCL price. The other two cabins were discounted by only $100 each over DCL. I was still pleased to get the $1000 savings over DCL and went ahead and put down a deposit. Yesterday I got an e-mail from the agent at DU saying that she was able to snag one more discounted cabin and our price dropped by another $800. Yea! So, it seems that they have a limited number of discounted cabins to sell.
