Has anyone been to the Oasis Lakes Resort? What was it like? How did you like it? I'm trying to decide between a two bedroom unit at the Oasis Lakes versus a studio at the Orange Lake Country Club. Can anyone help me decide on this?

I'll give it a stab, though I haven't stayed at either one. I've read the extensive TUG reviews and seen plenty of photos of OLCC. We toured Oasis Lakes. Here are my impressions & comparisons:

Both are Gold Crown resorts and offer lovely rooms with excellent, similar in-room amenities. Both offer nicely landscaped pool areas with hot tubs, kiddie pools, poolside bars, other activities nearby, etc.

Orange Lake CC - pros
* golf, fishing, extensive outdoor activities onsite
* activity programs for all ages, more family friendly
* several pool areas, including a new section with a popular waterslide
* quiet, peaceful surroundings (golf course)

Orange Lake CC - cons
* must drive down part of Rt 192 (traffic!!!)
* further from Disney and the other area theme parks
* sprawling resort, some sections too far to walk to pools in high heat

Oasis Lakes - pros
* all newer than most of OLCC
* first sections (which we saw a year+ ago) each near a pool
* very pretty main pool (indoor/outdoor!) with cabana
* adult billiard room and exercise facilities
* much better location on quiet lower I-Drive, easy access to all area theme parks

Oasis Lakes - cons
* fewer organized activities

If you plan to visit the parks during most of your stay (especially non-Disney), I'd choose Oasis Lakes. If you plan to visit only Disney and also spend quite a bit of time enjoying resort activities and/or golf, Orange Lake Country Club may suit you better (take the back road to Disney, near Silver Lakes resort, if you do). Hope that helps! Have fun - you really can't go wrong with either.

Wow! What a great analysis. Thanks. I still am not sure which to choose. They both sound great. You say Oasis is closer to the Disney parks?

They may be a similar distance but the route you take is different. OLCC is on a side road off of Rt 192 in Kissimmee, west of WDW. It's only a couple of miles but the ongoing road construction on 192 has made it a parking lot during popular park commute times!

Oasis Lakes is on South Int'l Drive, just below the Marriott GV & Hilton GVC timeshares. I-Drive gets congested north of there, so your commute down to WDW is generally very easy at any time - get to World Drive with only a couple traffic lights - maybe 10 minutes to Epcot & D-MGM. Sea World is under a mile north on I-Drive. Universal is another mile or two. No need to take I-4 or any highways to any of the parks.
