I'll be in Orlando in two weeks with DW, DS(13) and DS(10) and wanted some opinions on the Hard Rock Vault

I liked it! My husband and my two kids (DD 10, DS 4) and I went throught it last May. My husband and I enjoyed it very much - if you're into rock and roll, this is the place for you. You tour with a guide, through different eras of music set up in different rooms. There is a huge waiting area to view many exhibits of different groups and acts, all glassed in. We thought it was worth it. We found a coupon in one of those little coupon books you pick up in restaurants, shops. Our kids were very well behaved, as most of the rooms are set up to look at things closely, meaning alot of stuff is not glassed in. There is also a gift shop. Pretty reasonable stuff. The exhibits ranged from the 50's through present day groups. We especially enjoyed the 60's room, where they had Jim Morrison's famous leather pants and a couple of letters from him. If you like Rock and Roll, you'll like this. It was very informative and a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Dh and I did this in May and loved it. I would say that it's probably a 'once only' (or at least not once every trip) attraction, but that shouldn't put you off. We spent a long time there, but we're very into our music and 'museums' in general.

The tour consists of a small group and is quite personal (I think there are about six small rooms and it's as much about the commentary as the exhibits). At 13 and 10 your boys should be fine, but there's a possibility that they could be a little bored unless they are real music buffs - most of the tour revolves around classic rock, much of which our teenage girls wouldn't have a clue about.

The memorabilia in the general viewing area is much more along the lines of that at the Hard Rock Cafe i.e. inside glass viewing cases. For a family of four, I guess it's quite expensive. If you haven't done it before, I'm guessing your boys might get more from Ripley's Believe it or Not.

The4Foxes - maybe we were on the same tour! :teeth:

Thank you all for the input. This attraction is on our wish list for our next vacation in Florida. I think it just got bumped up a notch on the list. Thanks! Maggie
