Has Anyone Been In Augsut Or Sept??

I just returned this week from a lovely Disney World vacation, and DH is actually willing to do a return trip! WOW so I would love to do it beofre the years end but wallet alittle slim after this trip!

I would love to take advantage of the free dining package but fear the weather may mess things up a bit! Is one month better than the other ? DSo they offer this special of free dining at any other usual times??

The free dining has only been offered in late August and all of September the past two years.

The weather will not be much different...quite hot and very humid.

We have been in September 2 times, in 98 and again in 05. Last year it was very hot and humid, but not as hot as it is in July. That month I would never do again. September really was not too bad. It rained a little, but just here and there. It was bearable. And the free dining is great! I say go for it!

We love September--we do it almost every year! The weather is plenty warm enough for swimming, etc. but not the horrid humidity and heatthat you get in July. It is usually very pleasant. Of course, there was the year that hurricane Jeanne kept us in our resort for 2 days.....

I'd do it in a heartbeat if DD weren't in high school. The crowds are not bad even with the free dining.

I've been twice in September in 2002 and 2005. I will definately go back in September. The crowds are less and the the free dinning package is awesome!! You'll have a great trip! For your own piece of mind make sure you get the insurance disney offers with the package. It covers weather related issues. Some travel insurance don't.

was there last aug. and we are going back again this august. ITS SO SO SO SOO HOT/HUMID but its worth it. crowds are kinda big too. ive been in april as well and its not quite that crowded. id say most lines were about 1/2 hr -45 minutes. at the busiest times.

We were there last year for the free dining Sept 17th-24th. It was HOT, humid, and it rained every afternoon for just a few minutes. However, the parks were almost empty. We never waited for more than just a few minutes for any ride and walked on alot of them. We are going back this Sept 21st-30th and hoping for the same low crowds.

It will depend upon the year, we were there in Aug 2001. At home here right on the coast where it is usually cooler & we don't have ac it was near 100 degrees for a week that Aug, it was only in the 80's the week we were in wdw, lots of rain but we just used a new one of those 2/$1 cheap ponchos each day & were fine.

August is HOT. But by then, your body has already acclimated to the summer weather back home, so you don't feel it as much as you would at the start of July. In August, the weather is the same in Florida and New Jersey.

Just remember not to overplan. Eveyone moves a bit slower when it's hot.

Bonus tip: The strong air conditioning in Small World feels delightful when it's 100 degrees out!

We've been in Aug many times, DW's B/D and our Anniversary , so we celebrate both during the trip. Aug is extremely hot, humid, and crowded, but we have always enjoyed every trip, its WDW. afternoon breaks help...

Our first trip to WDW was in September 1999. It was the first time the park closed due to a hurricane. We won't go again in hurricane season. It was scarey plus for a couple of days (actually most of the 6 days we were there) much of the items were closed. We go in February now and we love it.

We went in August 3 years ago. I had checked on these boards and it said rain is common and usually only lasts a short time during the day. I was prepared. Bought ponchos before the trip and it did rain the day we went to Magic Kingdom..........for 7 hours straight.......lol. It was a wet day but we still had fun.
