How far is it from the Magic docking?

Is it worth it? DH really wants to go.

Info and directions will help.

Thanks,
Linda

we walked (dh and I) and it wasn't too far (but it's HOT there). We had key lime pie and tea only as we had Palo that night. Other DIS boarders ate lunch there and said it was excellent.

Definitely worth a visit (to the gift shop too!)

Hello Linda,
You will find Jimmy Buffett's Margarivilla on the corner of Fleming and Duval Street - It is about 4 long blocks from where the Magic is and very much walkable---It is a nice place tho very expensive, but then Key West is a tourist town ---I offer all types of information on Key West at no charge - all you have to do is send a Large self addressed envelope with about $3.50 worth of stamps on it -----I fill it up and return it back to you ----I also include a map so that you will have an idea where you are and want to go and do ----It is very warm in Key West - we have caribbean weather --being born and raised there, the conchs were never bothered much by it but those not use to it, it can sometimes be overwhelming.
Jimmy Buffet and Fast Buck Freddie was once SH Kress which was our only 5 and dime store where we could buy everything that was needed for a home or to wear ------in fact you can still see the name if you look up standing on Fleming Street ------
I believe every young girl that was born in Key West once worked at SH Kress ----that was a "real" job for us.
Hope that this helped.
Always
Shirley

If you're a Jimmy Buffett fan it is well worth your visit! ::yes::

We visited JB's in Key West while on an RC crusie a few yrs back. The food was excellent, frosty drinks very tasty and a fun atmosphere while dining to his music.

My mom ate there when in Key West a few years ago and absolutely loved it... of course she was a huge Jimmy Buffet fan! :teeth:

DH and I are planning to check it out on our cruise!

the cheese and spinich grits. I had them as an appitezer before having my obligatory "Cheeseburger in Paradise".

LONG walk especially when the temp is nearing 100. Very crowded and nothing much regarding the taste of the drinks or food. Gift shop is okay for non-Buffet fans, but the true fan will be in "Cheeseburger Paradise" with the atmosphere.

We went there because my best gal pal is a huge fan.

The shipwreck museum was very interesting - check out the prices of the Mel Fisher Atocha treasures....whew!!!

A word to parents with young children - many of the shops have sexually explicit material and this might not be what you want to discuss with your child if s/he sees them. Although my son is 8, he was confused by a statue of a couple in a "position" - the shop was actually NOT one of THOSE, but what we thought would be a safe family store.

Just a word to the wise - keep your eyes open!!!!

Now, THAT is funny ::yes::

We went there a year ago. I wasn't impressed. Great music, but the food was expensive and nothing to rave about.

I've been there but just for drinks. I loved people watching from the open windows in the front of the restaurant near the bar.

I'm impressed that some of you got in. It was so crowded when we spotted it that we didn't bother to try. :(

We got in during our August cruise, Regina - it WAS very crowded, we sat next to a honeymooning couple from another ship and they were so much fun - we all agreed, overpriced, nothing to rave about but just something to say, "Ohh, we were there!"

(Now I think we are doing Carlos and Charlies (Cozumel) after hearing all the great stories from our cruisers (August). We were at Sessions with The Piano Guy that night.)
