Hi,
Long time no see. I wasn't quite feeling the magic after our last trip in June 2012 and haven't been around but now the bug seems to be biting again and I am looking at a trip next year. :goodvibes

Due to pricing brackets for the dates I am looking at it is actually cheaper to pay to arrive Thursday and spend 5 nights than to arrive Friday and stay 4 nights (we only want 4 nights!!) Not sure I want to risk booking for Thursday and finding that they have cancelled our booking by the time we arrive Friday and was wondering if anyone had done anything similar before?

Jo

I'd also assume they would just cancel your booking if you didn't turn up on your check-in day. I might be wrong though?

I do recall when i was checking into the Sequoia Lodge in January a family who had indeed arrived a day later than they should have.
They had missed their flight as they had forgotten one of the passports and had managed to get flights the following day.

DLP had indeed cancelled their booking as they hadn't shown and the family were having all sorts of problems. When i left the reception area they were waiting for the manager to try and sort it out.

Depending on how your traveling to DLP it might be cheaper to travel on a Thursday than a Friday .

Could you maybe arrive Thursday and just leave a day early? You'd still just have your 4 nights but you won't have to worry about cancellation. I'm sure people have been a day late before maybe the key is to contact Disney the day you are meant to arrive to say there has been a problem and you won't get to check in until the following day if you can't travel until the Friday.

I'd say that phoning on the day to say you are delayed is the best option. Or just go for the 5 and have a super holiday :goodvibes

Thanks - I don't think I want to take the risk of that happening to us.

Thanks sadly I work in a school so we can't go until after school on the Friday or we would just go Thursday.

Thanks - the trouble is I don't think I trust myself to remember to phone on the day we are meant to be arriving what with packing and work etc :confused3

We had a flight cancelled due to fog a few years ago, i rang from the airport and explained and we checked in a day late, didnt have to provide any proof when we arrived and our room wasnt ready which i remember thinking was a bit odd!
I cant see any reason why you couldnt ring to say you've been delayed :)

Thanks for that, good to know that it can be done. I think I would worry about it too much though. I am now looking at perhaps doing a single person booking and buying APs for the rest of us.
