Has anybody tried the Instyler (flatiron)?

My dd wants one, but it's really expensive. I'd hate to spend nearly $100 on something that sits in a drawer. She has a regular flatiron now. Does it work better than a regular flatiron?

Yes! A friend who was in cosmatology school straightened my naturally curly hair with one and it was shiny and less frizzy than when I use a flat iron on it.
I didn't buy one b/c the only way to get it was a 2 for 1 deal. Need to find someone to split it with. Let me know if you find a good deal or if you want to split one

I have had mine for almost a year now and I love it. I have thick wavy hair, and it always took me forever to straighten my hair, and it still looked dry. But now I can do my hair in 20 minutes and it is so shiny. I get complements on my hair all the time now. I got mine from a friend who ordered hers and got 2. But if mine ever breaks I would have to buy a new one, I could not imagine now having to go back to something else.

I got one in December at Harmon's Drugs with a 20% coupon so it helped. It is great for my fine straight hair too. I would have to recommend it!

I haven't heard of these before. I looked it up, is it one that has brushes on the sides and a round barrel? My DD is looking for a new flat iron--thick, thick, wavy hair that takes her 45 minutes to straighten.

I'm surprised at how many people actually use this product and like it. My mom, a hairstylist, won't go near this product. her salon received reports about that on how badly they can damage your hair, to the point of pulling it out from the roots. I have a regular flat iron, and it works just great. I looked up some reviews on this product, and found way more bad than good. Very interesting reviews.

Just an FYI.

I would never use one
Just the thought of using something with a motor on my hair scares the hell out of me
I'd be so afraid it'd malfunction and pull my hair out!

Plus it seems like it's metal and not ceramic...bad for your hair!
