Has anybody seen Lightning McQueen?

Hi has anyone seen any of the Cars characters at the studios?

I saw Lightning McQueen and Mater at MGM in Orlando in June but I was by myself as the kids were on Star Tours with their dad and they had the camera so I am not sure they believed me when I told them who passed on by!!

The kids would love to see them as they loved the film at the weekend

There is a huge billboard poster fixed to the front entrance of the studios but I didn't see anything else there last week.

I am sure they will have plenty of merchandise on their shelves if nothing else!

My dd did not like the film, (we had to leave before the end) however on the way home from the cinema I told her about the new ride that is planned and she insisited that she wanted to ride Lightning McQueen .

My dd(6) and ds(4) loved it although I think it is in their blood to love all things Disney.

I suppose the brainwashing I do helps!!!!

Can you tell me whereabouts in the village he is? We were there last week and I kept looking out for the model but couldn't see it.

No, there is NO Lightning McQueen model in Disney Village. There was one near Gaumont when there was a press showing of the movie.

I am sure I saw him as I remember pointing him out to my daughter on the way to Cafe Mickey maybe I saw him some where else however I definitely did not see him at the studios.

DLRP decided not to purchase the Cars characters for the Studios, probably because they're expensive and they've got the attraction opening next year anyway. The attraction will feature life-size reproductions of Mater and Lightning at the entrance in a photo location set-up. The vehicles you ride in in the attraction *won't* be themed to the humanized cars from the film though, apparently they'll just be generic classic cars. I guess this is to stop people from fighting to ride in a particular one, and also because the Imagineers working on Toon Studio don't seem to like having people ride "inside of" characters - over at Crush's Coaster, it seems now we'll be riding in turtle shells rather than turtles...
