Has anybody flown the Thomas Cook flight into Orlando?

No it's not on demand. From memory there were about 4 - 6 films + TV shows played throughout, you had to follow timetable to watch.

Anyone know what the IFE is like...is it on demand ? I have read conflicting info. We're looking for June 2015 and the price is looking very favourable (we usually fly VA).

Thanks

We had the refurbished 2-4-2 plane from Manchester in May. That had on demand IFE and was a fantastic flight, can't comment on any others.

OOh sounds exciting :) we are in the first row of 3 towards the rear where it narrows from 4 seats in centre to 3. I've been trying to download latest in flight magazine, but only available for may/june. Would be great if it was on demand ::yes::

Hi....

We are flying with TC for the 1st time this year from Man to MCO, where do you get your plane flight info from please.... be nice to know what we shall expect from the flight ??

Thanks

On Thomas Cook Airlines home page drop down menu for in flight services,:thumbsup2

Quick heads to all flying with TC this year.. When I booked I didnt pay for pre booked seats and in flight meals (guess I was being tight) ! So just logged online to do this today and it was going to cost about £130 in total for 2 adults & 1 Child... 6 x meals and 6 x pre book seats, so before I did I clicked on the live chat option it took about 10 mins to get talking with them but it was well worth the wait !!! Just got it all sorted for £62.50 total , they sorted the pre booked seats for both flights and gave me all the meals for both flight FOC !! Happy Days !!!! Might help anybody else who needs to sort this too !!

Sounds fab we are booked with them (package) in Oct from Man to MCO. I think we are on a 2-4-2 outbound then a 3-?-3 (can't remember the middle number just know i've booked the 3 left hand side.) Don't know what the difference in the inbound flight will be but hoping to get some shut eye if I can. :goodvibes

Yep they do now fly into Orlando which was one thing that was appealing so just wondered people's thoughts, sounds like virgin may be backtracking on the seat allocation charges so will have to see :)

That's interesting, my daughter told me they had an offer on at the local store that sounded really good, but, it wasn't there when I had a look, probably sold out. I'm not keen, but, if I can get a cheaper deal I may try them for next year, but, it would have to be significantly cheaper than TravelCity Direct, who are the current cheapest I've found for a package.

Wow, wow, wow. Just had a look at TC, £2018 for Pop Century room only flying with VA and you have to sort out the transfers separately (do DME, it'd be easier than the company they recommend) TravelCity, £1716 for the identical holiday and on the exact same flight travelling May 12th next year. A real example of paying to look around. I didn't include park tickets as I am an annual pass holder, again with TC you have to do them separately, far too much hassle.

We just needed to book flights so just booked the TC flights for £550 each, can book seats but I'm not sure which to book, the seat config is 2-4-2, row 9 is the exit row and row 10 looks like there is a bit more from in front than the other seats but not sure we will get a full window, tried looking on seat guru but it's hard to find :confused3

I've just booked window seats rows 10 outbound & 32 inbound as there looks a bit more room, hope hey will be ok

Just checked VA flights £3221 for 2 adults 2 kids TCD £4812 for exact same flights. Rip off. Thats going in May not a peak time. Waiting till abt sept to book but indirect looking more appealing for around £600 each

Hope the seats are good ones as I've just booked the same ones as you. Going 27 Aug 15 for 16 nights, 3 adults £470 each. Going 18 Aug this year, can't believe I've got two trips booked. Happy days

When I clicked on the seats it said ideal for carrying infants, standard fee of £12.50, just hope it doesn't upset anybody, will of course change if so, just my DH has very long legs!!! We are also booked twice, 30th oct this year with dh,dd & her fiance for Halloween & Xmas and 30th Aoril next year for a more chilled out hol, just the 2 of us with F&G festival at Epcot which I love! :)

I've flown with them before, and it is just the standard differences between cheaper airlines and bigger more established ones. If all goes to plan TC will be great. If there is a problem - such as a technical fault with the plane - TC won't have the same resources available to remedy it. So you'll have to wait longer / be more inconvenienced. On our OB flight (a few years back) there was a technical fault, we were delayed 4 hours and ended up on a short haul plane that had to stop in Maine for refuelling, so the journey took over 10 hours instead of 7. Pretty rare though, and nothing that would stop me using them if the price was right.

They can also be very sticky on the baggage weights, so make sure you are within your stated limit or they will charge you an extortionate fee at the airport.

I think you have pretty much summed it up there to be fair !! :p

Arrived in Orlando today and had a really good flight with Thomas Cook from Manchester to MCO, I couldn't fault anything. The cabin crew were really friendly and the food tasted a lot better than I was expecting! I also thought the airbus A330 that we flew on was comfortable and I didn't have a problem with the leg room :-)

Sat in MCO now waiting for our flight. Thomas cook are way more strict than VA. Coming out VA check in agent told us they allow up to 25kg and didn't weigh hand luggage. TC weighed everything and very strict 6kg hand & 23kg hold. Also a farce with different companies, we booked with Condor and got 23kg, next to us were a family with only 20kg TC allowance.

My hand luggage was 2kg over so I had to take my netbook out and put it in another of our bags which was under 6kg. Walked away from the counter and put it back in mine again, I just don't understand that rule at all. With VA same bag I brought out around 12kg no questions.

That's strange, we booked direct with TC and it says 23kg, will have to watch wih my Yankee candles now though!

I think it depends if you booked a package or flight only. Check each booking.
