Has anybody ever just driven up to FW without a ressie

I was just curious if anyone who lives close by has ever just called FW directly in the morning and asked if they could camp that weekend or just driven up without a ressie. I talked to some people in 900 loop last time we were there and they said they spend 2-3 weekends a month at FW but didn't say what kind of ressie they had.

I have never just arrived without a ressie, but I have called the front desk same day before leaving home to see if they have any openings.
