Has anybody enjoyed the campfire at POFQ?

This sounds really relaxing! May change ressies from POP to POFQ based on research I've been doing.

last year we roasted marshmallows over the campfire at POR . . . daughter enjoyed it, but we didn't stay late . . . enjoy!

They do the campfire every night at both POR and POFQ (and every Moderate and deluxe resort). Just got back from it, at FQ. It's my kids favorite activity. And free! It's all the Jet Puffed marshmallows you want, one at a time. Benches surround the campfire for parents to sit. But parents can also join in. Two CMs tell the kids the rules and manage it - parents can just sit. My kids always choose this over going back to a park for fireworks. I wouldn't but I don't mind - it's so easy and relaxing.

Outdoor movie at each resort follows. The schedule changes monthly - check portorleans. Org for current and past times. Right now it's 7pm fire and 9pm movie.

Fwiw, my kids prefer the POR campfire set up. When they are done roasting marshmallows, there is a playground very close by. You can have one child at each pretty easily. And the feature pool is close by too. Lifeguards are still there during the campfire. And there is a bathroom and bar close by too.

POFQ's campfire location has a great view of the river. Which the kids don't care about of course.

Last December they had a little fake Xmas tree decorated and near the campfire at POR. They made an event of turning on the lights each night. My kids loved it even though it was very low budget.

Just wanted to add that both POR and POFQ have benches surrounding the campfire, and CMs managing the activity.


Also, the location of the POFQ fire might change, the cm there today said. Apparently no longer river view. Nothing definite yet.
