Has any one ever stayed at the grand floridean(GF) tell me what its like! i'd love to see some pictures. it must be AMAZING!! :scared1: :dumbo: :dumbo: :simba: :stitch: :stitch: :sulley: pug:

It is the most beautiful magical place in Disney. Contrary to popular opinion, it is not snobby or anything. We have stayed concierge there twice and I would not trade those experiences for the world. The people are EXTRA accommodating, the buildings are as stunning (if not MORE) inside as well as outside, and the rooms are big and so nice! The two pools are fun but relaxing and the place to eat, Gasparilla's, feels like home to me. Plus, it is easily accessible to all theme parks, but especially MK and Epcot. I love this hotel...I call it my second home...well, my first home. I call up here in MA my second home.

Ask Cat, "Loves Disney"...she will go nuts on the topic as well as I. I could go oooon and onnnnn and onnnnn and onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn too!!!

Any specific questions, feel free to ask! I've only touched the tip of the iceburg here...

Cat, you'd better not show me up with this  ;)

I love love love the Grand Floridian
It is my favorite hotel
We've stayed concerige there and it's just amazing
The rooms are beautiful and the staff is wonderful.
The pools are super and the views can't be beat.
It's very convient for going to the theme parks.

COOL thank you so much for sharing but, i have one more question. did you go to the spa there? and you are so lucky :shamrock: :thanks: :tinker:

I personally have never been to the spa there, but I'll bet it's amazing! However...you are getting what you PAY FOR!!!

GF may be the nicest, but it's also the most expensive...(of course, totally worth it!)

Any more questions? (Please ask me more questions! Is what I really mean!)

PS - Thanks so much for the PM, that was so sweet, and I appreciate it VERY VERY VERY MUCH!

i havent stayed there but ive been in it.. we went at christmas time and they had this HUGE christmas tree and the whole hotel was very decorated and they had this gingerbread house people worked in selling like chocolates or soemthing.. it was like 5 years ago hard 2 remember... all i kno is it seemed kinda fancy.. like super expensive and like you had to be royalty to stay there or something...Idk maybe it was just me...i guess this wasnt much of a help bcuz i havent been ther. sorry

I've never done the spa there....maybe this year (we're staying at the yacht club but maybe me and my mom will do a spa day at the GFlo as some people call it!)

How the heck did I miss this thread!!??

I've stayed at the Grand Floridian MANY times and it is my home. It really is. The feeling I get when I enter through the doors is breath-taking. The automatic doors slide open and the cool air rushes past me into the humid, warm weather of the Floridian weather. I then look around the awe inspiring lobby with its grand piano, oversized, authentic, victorian styel bird cage, and glass elevatory elegantly decorated to fit the decor and theme.

The smell is unforgetable! I always get a happy, pleasant sensation when I smell the magnificent odor of the place, as funny as that might sound, it's true.

Then there are the stores...I personally like M. Mouse Mercantile for its jewlery and Sandy Cove for just, well, everything really. The stores display wonderful GF items such as hats, shirts, towels, bags, souveniers, you name it!!

The pool is awesome as well! There are two pools and a hot tub. One pool has a slide but shallower. The bigger pool is deeper and more for cooling off whereas the other is more for splashes and stuff heh. They take EXCELLENT care of the pools and keep it sparkling clean!

The lanscaping is heavenly!! The flowers are always kept fresh and if they suspect flowers are dying, they will replace them. The lobby flowers are replaced once a week and here's a secret...if you happen to walk through while they are changing the flowers, you might get to take some home!!! Woot!

They also have a big band that plays. After the pianist plays a few tunes, the big band will start playing music that fits the theme...very cool.

The Grand Floridian is home to Florida's best restuarant...Victoria and Albert's. It's a 5 diamond dining experience requiring a dress code and proper manners. This is my FAVORITE restaurant because the food is simply amazing...I've NEVER tasted things like I did that night. It's a 7 couse meal.

There are other restaurants such as Citrico's, 1900 Park Fare, The Grand Floridian Cafe, and Gasperilla Grill (counter service). 1900 Park fare is a character buffet.

What's also great is that the GF is on the monorail. Easy to get to the Magic Kingdom this way...VERY easy.

Locted near Gasperilla Grill is the marina. You can rent pontoon boats and water mice (as they call it) -- they say "Sea Racers" on the boats though.

Okay you know what...I could go on and on and on (in fact, I have written a 10-15 page review on the Grand Floridian *single space* lol.) So I should stop myself before I make a post that is WAY too long heh.

The Spa and Health center are amazing as well!! (had to add that heh)

I would have pictures from our past trip in July, but all the pictures are saved to my now "dead" computer and this computer doesn't have a photo program.
