Has any Annual Passholders gotten their magic bands yet?

3/21 was 60 days until check-in for my May stay. On that day, I could make reservations for the dates of my reservation. Prior to 3/21, I could only make them for up to 30 days in advance as an AP holder.

I wish this was the case for us. It tells me that no one is eligible. I wonder if the problem is that our passes expire in 30 days, and I have not yet renewed them.

If that were the problem, you should still be able to make FP+ reservations for the days until your passes expired. Are they definitely linked properly? Did you get the notification on MDE telling you that you could order MagicBands? Until we got that notification, my DH and DS were unable to make FP+ reservations having not previously had a resort stay.

i had the option to customize two ap magic bands a couple of weeks ago so if they send me the right card with that magic band would i be able to just use that gold card instead of the black card ?

For those of you ordering APs recently (since they started formal AP MyMagic testing):

* If you link your voucher code (WILS number) successfully, and then cannot make FP+ reservations for a 30 day window, you need to call the Disney Internet Help Desk (407) 939-7765. They will reset it. They said this has happened a number of times.

* I also confirmed that MB orders will not be released until after you have visited and exchanged the voucher for a card. So you must make your first AP visit using a card and only get MBs mailed after that visit. Rats. I mean mice.

This make sense since the Discount Card has your name and pass expiration date printed on the back.

I can make reservations for FP+ for the next 30 days like normal. I've been making them for 5 months now. Multiple day trips over. My passes are linked correctly. Today is just the day that I am exactly 30 days from expiring, and 60 days from an onsite stay.

You can only make fp selections while you have an active pass. As soon as your pass expires you can't make any more selections even if you have a resort reservation. This happen to me during my jan visit. My pass expired on day 3 of my trip so after that if said I didn't have an active ticket. I had to renew online and get a will call number. I was hoping to do it in person but had to do it prior to my arrival if I wanted additional FP choices. Once I linked my will call number I finished making my other fp selections. Also I was allowed to make my choices 60 days out and we are 3 different families which are all passholders and I made all of the FP choices for everyone in the group.

The gold card is your passholder discount and free parking card.

Sorry, I understand that's what the box says. When I say it is unclear, I should have clarified that's what the ticketing CM told me.

The ticketing CM said we could just show our AP cards.

She also suggested that scanning our bands themselves would be an option sometimes. I got the sense that she was saying simply scanning our magicbands at the gate might work for parking fees.

She also said she had no way to replace just the card.

So maybe that part I have to do in person if I care to have one.

When next we go, we will also have a resort reservation. I also rarely use the AP discount. I have TiW for food, which is usually a bigger discount, and don't buy much merchandise these days.

Yes, they can scan your MagicBand for parking, but it's only happened to me once or twice in the past MANY times I've been recently.

You can just use your AP card for discounts, parking, and everything. Honestly I am confused as to why they gave us the gold cards if we get AP cards too.

My guess is that it's part of a transition plan that we are all unaware of.

I recently renewed my pass ahead of time at Epcot. It was set to expire on the 22nd, but I renewed it on the 18th. However, on the my Disney experience website it does not have my new expiration date - it only says annual passholder. Also, when I recieved my magic band today I got a black card with the expiration date of 3/21/14 when I should be getting a gold card.

When I called the first time, they said I had to use my annual pass again for the new expiration date to show up?

any help to find out what it going on would be appreciated - I am getting several different answers from people on the phone

I got mine, but I got the black card instead of the gold card by mistake and the expiration date is one day earlier than it is supposed to be. I guess I'll be on hold with guest relations too :(

I guess we'll both be doing the phone run around this afternoon. I'm so frustrated I'm about ready to cry

eta: the person on the phone said a few other people have been having this problem as well. They said that our magic bands or annual passholder cards should work for parking. They do not have a date as to when the cards can be replaced for the right ones. They said they do not have the yellow cards at guest relations at the parks to correct the problem yet.

Let me know if you here differently.

I'm sure somebody must have explained it before, but couldn't find the info.

My bands are all showing up in My Disney Experience, with the right names and colors, but I have no idea when they "ship". Under status is shows nothing, just a blank space ...

I noticed somebody here even had the tracking number, how did you get that???

Thanks!

You will receive an email and also a yellow button of notification on your MDE when you log in to let you know your bands have shipped and you will be provided a tracking #.

I have a question I hope someone can answer. My husband and I are APs and we just got the email Saturday that our MBs are finally on the way. I assume they will be here Tuesday or Wed. Our APs expire on April 20th. We are planning to renew (probably this week when we go to the parks.) My question is, will we have to recustomize and order new MBs or will the ones we get this week be good for our renewed passes?

Yes I've found the new system really messes up expiration dates. I picked up my ap on jan 22 and I had bought the voucher to renew it on dec 1. We arrived in wdw on jan 20, on jan 22 I took my voucher to guest relations to get my new ap. Everything went ok and my pass continued to get me into the park. Btw they did not give me a new pass and said the old pass would continue to work. One evening I logged into mde while in the room and to my surprise my new expiration date was now dec 1 not jan 22. Again I headed to guest relations and it took talking to two different cm to get someone to fix it. I kept tryin to explain that my old pass expired on jan 22 2014 therefore since I was renewing my new pass WAS suppose to expire on jan 22 1915. Sounds simple. After getting a sr person it finally got fixed plus 1 day for my time. If I had gotten home and saw this I would not be happy. So folks should be checking their expiration dates after getting new APs

Just link your new APs to MDE and nothing will need to be done to your MagicBands. You'll be good to go!:)

FWIW I have had a VERY hard time using MB for parking. BRING YOUR OLD AP CARD.

Sometimes they just wave you through. Sometimes they ATTEMPT to scan Magic Band. Sometimes they simply refuse and demand a regular AP card.

YMMV.
