Has a worker CM ever remembered you?

It is so nice when you are recignised! The customer services director said hello to us. What's more she knew what stateroom in conceirge we were in. That we were on a b2b and moving cabins to the one next door!

In 2013 on the Wonder from LA to Vancouver we dined at a private group brunch in Palo and had Sasha as our server, he was excellent, then when we had dinner there before the end of the cruise we got him again, he was amazing. Fast forward to 2015, 5 Night Western Caribbean on the Wonder out of Miami and for our dinner in Palo we asked if he was serving and were seated with him, he not only remembered us, he remembered some of our preferences and also that my husband had ordered the Chocolate Souffle for desert and asked if he wanted to order it again.

No. I honestly think it would be creepy if someone did remember me more than a year later. I like to be anonymous.

:)

That's generally how I feel, plus my anxiety kicks in over what I did to make me so memorable.

But then the Disney cm remembered ds and it was fine. Having the Royal room attendant remember us felt odd though. But that was simply because on the first cruise she NEVER got DS's name right, to the point where we still riff on all the variations she used over those 7 days, but she remembers us 2 years later?

(We gave him a weird Irish name, we're cool with the name problem, but every time she saw him she called him something else...plus at one point she was saying it like "hey, mon" would be said in Jamaica where she's from, so that was amusing)

It's only happened once for us. On our last cruise, we requested the same serving team from the previous cruise. While one of them had moved on to another ship, we did get the same assistant server and she made a big deal about remembering us. Of course, she also mentioned how happy she was when she had been told we requested her, so she did get a little advance notice. Still we loved having Amphie once again. She's the best!

What is funny, though, is that on several occasions we have had CM's mention that they remembered us and not a single one of us could recall ever seeing them before. The funniest was our server the one and only time we sailed on the Fantasy. The very first night, he made a big deal about remembering us from a previous cruise. Seriously, we'd never laid eyes on the guy. We politely explained, no, we've never been on the Fantasy before. So then he decides he must remember us from the Magic, as that is the ship he began his DCL career on. Nope. At that point we had not yet sailed on the Magic, only the Wonder. I guess our family has a double that sails on all of the Disney ships!! :rotfl2:

Yes on the fantasy we had one of the merchandise CMs remember us from our cruise the previous year. He was wonderful and when we had cruised the year prior I was still a parks CM so I had spent quite a bit of time talking to him the prior trip. It was fun to have a CM remember us especially after he seemed so excited when we said we got engaged.

Yes. While on the Wonder my wife and I were recognized at the Pallo Brunch by our waiter from our Pallo Dinner on the Fantasy. Our sailings were a little over a year apart. At Disneyland more than a few CM's know me by name.......mostly at the restaurants. My daughter was recognized by Minnie

I was in shock when Fransisco, a vanellopes worker remembered me from a year ago. He remembered my name, usual order, and he spotted my braces. I think thats amazing so I was wondering if its all that common or rare for a CM or 2 to remember you.

Eyeore (sp?) remembered me once from the year before when I ate at the Crystal Palace:rolleyes:

We have spent the most time on the Wonder and have gotten to know quite a few CMs from all over the ship, from the MDRs, to the gift shop, Leo at Palo, and Wawan who worked at the Cove Cafe and bars. We love certain aspects of the larger ships, but we always look forward to going back to the Wonder to see familiar faces.

I've had a couple of bartenders remember who I was, also a couple of the servers at Remy not only remembered who we were, but that my DW didn't drink and what we were and were not interested in food wise.

We've had an assistant server remember us as well as our stateroom host. That's special. I figure when the CL hosts remember us that's part of their job although some seem happier than others to see us :)

At the restaurants I always wonder if they keep a file. The company I work for does CRM work so I know for a fact there are system that any company can use to alert servers and host/ess (as well as any employee actually) to preferences and such. It wouldn't shock me that Disney uses them and that's why so many food based CMs seem to remember people and exactly what they like.

We have had several wait staff remember us.

Stateroom hosts as well (who even remembered "approximately" where our stateroom was when they worked down on our floor).

The most interesting one was a MDR Server that remembered us, but we did not remember him :scratchin ... odd, because we remember all of our MDR waitstaff. After we got home we saw his picture come up on our screen saver - He was our server ONE time in Palo!!!

I had a server from the Cove Cafe on the Magic come over and say hello when we were in the Cove Cafe on the Dream a year later. As soon as he spoke, I remember him but I was way impressed that he remembered me (we did spend a lot of time in the Cove Cafe). We've also had the same server in Palo on the Magic at least three times and she remembers us each time.
We always have Sylvester in Palo on the Magic and he makes the experience wonderful for us!!

We've had several crew from waiters to ship board.members that have remembered us at some point.

Yes, our room steward Danny remembered us from our deck 8 stateroom on the Magic, a year later. But he wasn't our steward the second time, just on the same deck. He was so nice.

OMG....is that Wawan of the infamous Wawatini? I am pretty sure we had him as a bar server on the Wonder and he made us a wonderful drink he named the Wawatini...we still crack up about 3 years later.
