I was in shock when Fransisco, a vanellopes worker remembered me from a year ago. He remembered my name, usual order, and he spotted my braces. I think thats amazing so I was wondering if its all that common or rare for a CM or 2 to remember you.

It is always magical and yes, we have had multiple instances of CM's remembering us. Some of them have become our friends on social media sites as well.

We had wonderful servers for our mexican riveria trip and 2 years later they recognized us when we boarded in Miami for a 5 night cruise.
(on the Wonder both times) Made our trip even more magical.

Once on Disney. She had been a kid's club CM in February and in October she was signing the kids in for the club in the terminal, and she recognized my son. He's tall, cute, also interesting-looking, and has bright copper hair and eyes that have to be described as amber because to say "they match your red hair" is too weird. He's memorable.

(On Royal we got the exact same room attendant on different ships, 2 years apart, and we all recognized each other. It was wild.)

On the Wonder the amazing crew in the nursery remembered my kids almost two years between sailings. The first time my youngest was only just three months old and then she was just about two, so major change. Dipo even remembered my second youngests birthday (he had it on the first cruise) and asked about him even though he had aged out of the nursery.

Yep. One of our servers from our first cruise on the Magic (November 2014) recognised us on our latest cruise in October 2016. Didn't remember our names but remembered that we are from Australia. Just happened to walk past us in one of the MDRs one night and spotted us.

Went on a family cruise one year with DD, DSiL, DGS (Teen), DW and me had Typhoon from Turkey as our server. 16 months later DW and I made a last minute reservation, went to PC for embarkation lunch, Typhoon saw us walking up to PC, and he came out of line from where the servers were escorting the cruisers to their tables. He served us lunch. We went to the table assignment change meeting, requested Typhoon as our server and it was granted. Typhoon had gone home twice and gotten married during those 16 months, yet he still recognized us.

Our last cruise on the Dream we had three servers come up to us at Cabanas during Embarkation lunch and said they remembered us. Happens at Palo as well.
So nice to be remembered by them all.

It is always special when CM remember you (hopefully for good reasons LOL). We started with DCL in 1998 when they first launched and over the years several CM's remember us and vice versa. We spend a good chunk of time on each cruise speaking with cast we have met before!!! We also had a couple that used to work on cruise staff...well she was on cruise staff and he worked on CC who married and when they left DCL they came and stayed with us for a week while visiting New York.

On our second Disney cruise, my daughter was 11, and she was head over heels for our server Aleksander from Croatia. She drew him a picture and cried when she had to leave the ship. Two years later and we are back on the Magic and we thought heck, let's see if Aleksander is still onboard. Well, we found out he had become a Head Server and we found out where he was. Now granted, my DD changed a lot in those two years. As we walked toward him he took one look at my daughter and said "I still have your picture". I just about fell over. My daughter was delighted and they hugged and talked for a while. Think about all the kids they see in just a month and the fact that he remembered her two years later was beyond belief!

This is the reason we love DCL. We have had servers, entertainment staff, and youth counselors remember us.

Exactly! As much as I want to give another, less expensive cruise line a try, when I think about what really makes the cruise for us, a lot of it is the CMs.

We have had a few bartenders remember us (not sure that's a good thing, LOL). One even stopped in the middle of a Cognac seminar in Meridian to come out from behind the bar to greet us with a hug. We have also had a couple of head servers recognize us, which says a lot since they sort of get the rep for not interacting much with the guests. They really do a lot of work for us. :) And of course our favorite server Sheree has gotten to know us since we have had her 4 times now.

Slightly :offtopic:, on our last Carnival cruise we visited the pool bar and I found a drink that I was crazy about -- the Cosmo Cubana. I asked the bartender to add a little grenadine to it and I was sold. After that, every time he saw us coming, he would have that drink and my husband's favorite Mojito on the counter before we got there! I love that kind of thing.

We request the same servers each time we cruise with DCL and they always remember us. When we come to dinner the first night, they have our drinks we like already sitting on the table and our Cheese plate ready to go.

Also, we did our first Wonder cruise this year in February and our 3 yr old DD did the princess meet and greet. When we were back on the Wonder a couple of months later and we did the meet and greet again, I noticed Rapunzel flipping backwards through here autograph book and found her signature from our earlier cruise a few pages back. She smiled and said "I knew I remembered you!"

I think it definitely adds to the charm of the experience for repeat cruisers!

I had a server from the Cove Cafe on the Magic come over and say hello when we were in the Cove Cafe on the Dream a year later. As soon as he spoke, I remember him but I was way impressed that he remembered me (we did spend a lot of time in the Cove Cafe). We've also had the same server in Palo on the Magic at least three times and she remembers us each time.

YES! From our second cruise on we have always had Cast Members who remember us. One was a photographer who had been on a cruise we had taken 3 years prior. He remembered my daughter, her name and that she loves Pluto! It really does make a difference to be remembered when they interact with so many people. It is one of the many reasons we still cruise with DCL.
