One day of our Disney trip we are going to universal to see Harry! Any advice from those that have been? Thanks.

Check out the Universal forum on this very website. There is a ton of information about the parks and dining and so on plus the people over there are quite nice.

We have been often and love it!

If the big ride is important to you, get there early and be prepared to wait in line. I can't remember the name of it, but when we were there in February, the wait was 2 1/2 hours. My son is autistic and could never wait that long, so I lied and told him it wasn't open. Oh, well.

Agree to check out the Universal boards. We did one day at IOA in the middle of a Disney trip and Forbidden Journey was only a 15-20 minute wait when we arrived! We were there the week before T-giving that year. The stores were mobbed though, so we came back to the stores right before closing and they were empty then. (And FJ went down to less than 10 minute waits!) The time you go makes a huge difference. Also, we didn't have Express pass that trip and didn't need it. The wait times were all reasonable. But if you stay on-site, then you get free express-pass included.

Go on a Sunday. Get there early. They may open the gates earlier than the posted opening time. Head right to Forbidden Journey. Unless you want to do Olivander's - then head there first.

Even thought the Harry Potter line may be 90 minutes or more, the singles line is rarely longer than 15 minutes

Also do NOT have ButterBeer BEFORE going on Harry Potter ride or you will be sorry.

for the main harry potter ride, get there as soon as they open and hit that first (naturally it's on the complete opposite side of the park from the entrance). the regular line has a lot of fun theming so it's not awful if it's fairly short. the single rider line can be tricky to find but it's a great option if you are not riding as a group.

definitely try the butter beer and have lunch at the 3 broomsticks.

the dragon challenge isn't really new but it's a fun rollercoaster (not as great as the hulk). if you are ok being soaked, ripsaw falls is a terrific log flume-type ride.

Even if you don't want to ride Forbidden Journey, you can still go through the castle. Ask a Team Member at the front of the ride to direct you to the castle tour line.

Be prepared that the stores are small as JK Rowling tried to keep some authenticity.

Don't wait out at the barrel for butterbeer. Get it inside the Hog's Head Tavern.

The cauldron cakes are yummy in Honeydukes.

Make sure you use the washrooms by Three Broomsticks.

Sit in the owlery and look up.

Explore every nook and cranny as there are fun little scenes all over the place.
