We went to harry Potter in Aug. of 2010. It was wall to wall ppl. Since it's been open for awhile now- is it any less crowded? We were thinking of coming back next Aug.

Yes, it is definitely less crowded. Still very busy though.

If you're coming down in the summer again, it's going to be very crowded...maybe not quite as bad as last year but still very popular. It's not as busy now because we're in the slow period until Thanksgiving weekend but summer is not a slow period.

If you are coming in late August it will be much less busy than early August.

It's been quiet for the past month, but that's now changing bc of the celebration next weekend. When I went in August it was still crowded, but it might die down a little next year.

We went the end of August and it was busy but manageable. Single rider line was great for the FJ ride! Stores were not too bad early in the day and again toward the end of the day.

Went yesterday and longest line i saw for FJ was 45 minutes around lunch time. I got there about 9:15am and walked right on. The town area was not bad at anytime and the big dragon coster never had longer then 5 minutes that I saw during the day.
I saw the line for Olivander's but I just walked in the back door of the shop to look around with no problem and no line.

It took me longer to get a butterbeer then to wait in line for the FJ ride..LOL

I think it totally depends on when you go. I'm here right now, a Saturday, and crowds are totally managable. As previous poster said, the butterbeer lines were longer than anything else! Longest posted time I saw for FJ was 45 minutes, but that was only for a period at the peak of the day.

How are the crowds the first week of Feb? I'm hoping that it won't be too crowded.

We went in Sept and it wasn't crowded on the weekdays but def picked up on the weekends. The shops were not lined up outside, but, were very crowded inside. On Saturday we decided not to even try to go in any of the shops.

As a comparison everywhere else we went was pretty much "dead" -as most of the Orlando attractions are in early Sept.;)

We are thinking of going for a day, mid December, around the 15 or 16th. Any predictions on crowds? Would a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday be better. Thanks for any advice.

We're going on the 15th of Dec. I've been seaching crowd calendars for that week and it looks like we're good until after Sunday 12/18, when crowd predictions spike. :thumbsup2

Thanks! :) It's been so long since we have gone to US/IoA that I feel out of touch with those parks.

We were just there two weeks ago. The lines weren't bad at all. Like other posters, the longest wait I saw for FJ was 45 min. We had early entry since we booked through Universal, but it was still very manageable if you didn't have early entry. I think the longest we waited was 25 minutes for Hippogriff. The lines for Butterbeer are long as well, but well worth it.
