So my sister and I were just watching the fourth movie (we are getting ready for tomorrow).
And she said that Harry was the richest kid at Hogwarts.
Now, the money came from his parents, but what was his parent's jobs?
I don't remember that being mentioned.
Were they Auror since they were in the Order of the Phoenix?
Any ideas?

Idk if Harry's the richest at the school, but I think I recall reading that his parents didn't work; James' family was wealthy and that's where the money came from.

he wasn' the rishest he just had a lot of $ i think the malfoys are you didn't have an aouror to be in the order just because your in the order i'm reading my books and i'm on the 5th snape is teacher and he was in the order mad-eye seems to be the only arour now i think james worked at the minestry and lilly i don't thinked worked

i envy you when it was set for the 13th i cleared my schedule for babysiting when he date changed i couldn't cancel so i have to work tomarrow it looks really good i'm seeing it friday

Harry potter is rich. his parents did work but jkr hasnt said what they did yet, nothing too big because james got most of the family fortune and they worked for the order.
Harry isnt the richest but hes up there

I totally forgot about the Malfoys.
Maybe that is something we will find out about Lily in the 7th book.

Whether or not Harry is the richest kid in school is unknown, but we do know that he was left a small fortune by his parents. In my opinion though, I highly doubt he's the richest. Also, you don't know for sure if James' (Harry's dad) family was wealthy or not, we don't know too much about him at this point other than that he was pureblood, but judging from what we know about some of the other pureblood families (with the exception of the Weasley's) and also how James acted in Snape's memory, it's safe to guess that his family was probably pretty stable financially.

You don't have to be an auror to be in the Order of the Phoenix either, I mean look at the Weasley's, Dumbledore, McGonagall..it's all about the stance you take when it comes to fighting Voldemort..it's just a coincidence that most of it's members happen to be aurors. But right now we don't know Lily and James' occupations, but that is something you will find out in Deathly Hallows
