Harry Potter movie SPOILERS

Here was another thing that's been bothering me. Where were their robes? I don't remember seeing them wear robes at school. Am I crazy? They've always worn robes in the past. I don't remember seeing them at all.

They only need to wear them in class - and the only class you saw them in was Potions, so those were the only scenes they had to wear them. Outside of class they rarely wear the robes.

I went agn today....I took dd and her friend.

I really missed seeing the following:

Jenny flying into the commentator box after the Quittich game when the commentator had been talking bad about the team;

Luna's commentating of another quittich game

the wailing and crying of Dumbledore in the cave

the budding love relationship btwn Jenny and Harry

the continual crying of his Phoenix those were very impt to the movie

burial for Dumbledore

these were some of my observations.

The rumor going around is that the Deathly Hallows film will open with Dumbledore's funeral. Not sure how true that is, but it makes sense and gives them the chance to get the wand into the tomb.

it's got to be the sceen where herminie changes into bella to go to the bank. that's the only time that bellatrix and griphook are together.
Thanks! That has to be it!
Not sure of the hairy guy, unless its Ron as whoever he "becomes" or maybe its Bill with more hair than the picture we saw of him?
I was thinking it was Bill too. He would be more "wolfy" and hairy looking since he was bit by Fenrir Greyback. But, I like the idea that it is Ron.

I don't think she will either. It seems sad that they probably had thousands to try out for that part and there had to be at least a hundred with more actual ability than this girl. We may be pleasantly surprised in the next film; but somehow I doubt it.

To give the casting agent a little break on this, at the time that she was cast, several of the books had not even been written. They really didn't know how demanding a part she would be required to fill. She was probably cast based on her fit in the family.

someone's put together a bunch of photo's from the set

it is most definitely the scene where the trio and griphook leave in the morning to go to the bank. if you look closely at 3.12 you'll see that it ron behind the beard.

so H has already transformed into Bella and is in the process of changing R into the unknown wizzard

at 3.25 you see someone carrying Dobbie. i don't think they are filming because i can't figure out who that is supposed to be so it might be that he's bringing Dobbie to set. 3.37 you see harry digging Dobbie's grave. it will be very interesting how they make this brightly lit afternoon into a night scene. or am i remembering it wrong - he buried Dobbie at night didn't they?

some pretty sexy pics of harry around the 4 minute mark - he's fully clothed but he just looks nice:lovestruc am i too old to be saying that about a 20 year old LOL he could be my son for crying out loud HAHAHA:lmao:

ok now i don't feel so bad - at 4.47 they show pics of Emma and her boyfriend - he's got to be my age and she's just about 20ish so now i'm not to old for Dan :thumbsup2 - wonder what dh would say if he read this LOL

and another one - not just pics but actual video

LOL! I was looking for the diadem when Harry and Ginny were in the Room of Requirement! Just dorky that way, I guess.
Not dorky at all. I was looking all over for it also. It's yet another major item that should have been in this film. From this film, Harry has no clue that Voldemort was using artifacts from the Hogwarts founders as horcruxes. IMO, the seventh and eighth films are going to be a mess trying to "fix" all the missing parts from this movie.

I truly wonder if Yates ever even read the final book.

it isn't yates - it's whoever wrote the screne play.

yates is just directing what is written -

i know writers of books don't get as much say so in the adaptaions but they should - it's their work that is being transformed so they should get the final say in it

Thanks for posting those clips. I feel a little better about what to expect from the upcoming movies. With all the stuff that was left out of HBP I was worried that some of my favorite scenes would be left out of DH. Like the wedding scene and Dobby's burial. Of course, that doesn't mean they'll make the final cut.

Is it bad that I cried like a baby just seeing the pictures of Dobby's burial in that clip? To me, that was the most heart wrenching death out of the whole Harry Potter series.

Oh, and you can see Hermione carrying the beaded handbag that she used the extendable charm on in some of the scenes.

Yep. Steve Kloves wrote the screen plays for all the movies except for Order of the Phoenix.

Saw it Friday and was really disappointed! HBP is my favorite out of all of the books. I love the whole Voldemort back story and they left out most of it. I think it is such an important part of the story that Voldemort is a 1/2 blood too. He is basically full of it. I loved finding that out.

Oh and what was the deal with the 2 cabinets. There was all of this build up with Draco and the cabinets and in the books the bad guys come through because there is a whole battle in Hogwarts. In the movie they were there for nothing. There was no point. Snape killed Dumbledore and then they left.

Just got home, really tired, and want to go to bed, but wanted to post first.

What an awesome movie! It may be my favorite movie so far.

Three things I noticed that weren't included, the Dursley's, there was no battle at the end, and Dumbledore is special and can apparate inside the castle. Also some of Dumbledore's memories are missing.

I saw the movie on Saturday and was very surprised that they eliminated the battle at the end. I thought that was a critical part of the end. And what was with the battle and burning of the Burrow? What was the purpose of adding that?

no mention of tonks and the werewolf's budding relationship

This may have been answered already, but there was a hint of it during the scene at the burrow, when she and Lupin were together.

Oh yeah I didn't think of it that way...I really liked how they built up the 2 cabinets, but you're right, it all led up to nothing!

oh, right; exactly. That's why I wondered before if they were really looking for a look more than ability. The rest of the Weasley kids (except Ron of course) play such a small part (and two are even left out of most of the movies); there just may have been no indication at the time that she would end up being such a important part in Harry's life.

Since there is also a Hogwarts battle at the end of DH, they're saving it for that movie so both movies don't end with a battle. I was fine with them leaving it out for now (I knew about it before I saw the movie).

It's also been rumored that the next film will open with Dumbledore's funeral.

They added the Burrow scene to make up for loss of the Hogwarts battle at the end - and the fact that there really aren't any other action sequences in the book outside of Harry and Dumbledore going after the Horcrux in the cave.

Dobby's death was soo sad, but while reading the book I think I cried the most when Hedwig died. I just didn't expect it!

I didn't know that about the writer. Order of the Phoenix was my favorite of all the books, but my least favorite of the movies (too much left out and unexplained). HBP is my least favorite of the books, but my favorite movie so far.

I have noticed that a lot of the people posting that HBP was their favorite book are also saying they were disappointed in the movie. I am wondering if its because of a higher expectation. I know before seeing OOTP, I was so looking forward to seeing certain things on the screen and then get there and find if was cut--very disappointing!

ya but it still would have been nice for harry to try to use the "illegal" curse and have snape say "no unforgivables from you potter"

I think some of ya'll need to give Ginny a break - she is being directed to act a certain way, after all. It's not like actors/actresses can do whatever they want - they have to answer to the director during filming. For all we know she could be doing exactly what she has been told to do - act flat. Maybe they're holding her back a bit or something. I understand that she has been accepted to some big acting college or something, so she can't be terrible. It would, after all, just be another in a long line of things the writer or director have screwed up (I mean, changed) from the books to the movies...

It looks like Bellatrix Lestrange to me. But I can't think of what scene this corresponds to in the book right now. Who is the hairy guy she's pointing her wand at?

It's got to be Hermione as Bellatrix just before they go to Gringott's Bank. I'd guess that's Ron, looking scruffy.

I hadn't thought of that! LOL! Half the story is unnecessary. Maybe Draco worked so hard at the cabinets in order to have witnesses for Voldemort? Although that is unnecessary as well, as Voly could just read his mind :)

You're correct in that a director tells an actor what they are looking for. The director can't, however, force it out of an actor. I'm sorry if you are taking offense to my statement, but I don't think she is a very good actor. It isn't personal, it is just my opinion.

As for the acting school, most people can get into acting schools if they have enough money and/or prior experience. Many people who go to acting school never make it in the acting world. Going to school doesn't guarantee talent.
