I am so very jealous right now!
My dad owns a family lumber business and every year he and my mom attend the lumbermen's convention. They have had it at a lot of different places. This year it is in Florida. They always provide an entertainment night and this year they are getting dinner and exclusive access to Harry Potter at Universal. Yep, they suck! I have not been able to go yet and am a HUGE fan.
Anyway, I promised my mom I would help with some research.
She's a total ride wimp but enjoys rides like Soarin'. Dad is not a ride wimp but he's 60 now and hasn't done many theme parks since I was a teenager (so about 20 years now). What would you all recommend they try and what would you recommend they avoid? And yes, I know, they suck and wish I could go with them! So! BAD!

Are they getting exclusive access to WWoHP or IOA in general? I'm assuming this will be an after hours private affair? If they are only getting access to WWoHP, I wouldn't recommend any of the three attractions in that area. Two are coasters and Forbidden Journey is way more intense than Soarin.

If they have access to the whole park, they will probably need to avoid most attractions if Soarin is the wildest thing they can handle. My parents sound like yours so make sure you tell them to visit Suess Landing...they should like most of the attractions in that area.

How awesome for them! I can say that without jealousy, only because my husband is having a conference in a couple of weeks there and they/we will have exclusive access to WWOHP too! :woohoo:  I can't wait! Hope they have a wonderful time!

Hi,

Your mum and dad are so lucky:cool1:

It really depends on whether they have access to all of Islands of Adventure, or just Harry Potter land. I would assume that it is all of IOA. If this is the case, I would suggest that they avoid The Hulk, and Dr. Doom Fearfall. Spiderman will be fine, Jurassic Park will probably be ok too, but there is a drop at the end. All of Seuss Land will be ok, too.

If your mum likes Soarin, and finds Spiderman ok, then The Forbidden Journey will be fine. It is a fantastic ride, so if they think that they could manage it, they would really enjoy it. The ride of the Hippogriff is a very, very tame rollercoaster, aimed mainly at younger children (but still enjoyable for adults). The last ride in HP land is what used to be Duelling Dragons, and is a full blown roller coaster, so is probably out of the question for your mum.

I would suggest that you try to persuade your parents to try out FJ, as it is probably one of the best rides in Orlando. There is a scary bit with spiders, and some rigorous movement, but nothing extreme.

Could they not bring you with them?:worship::worship::worship:
