Does anyone want to discuss Harry Potter who has not finished it yet? I know there's a thread for those who've finished the book, but I'd like to discuss it as I'm reading it, without worrying about reading and / or giving away spoilers.
I'm going to give my thoughts on the first nine chapters. Please DO NOT post any spoilers for anything after chapter nine. I'll update my thoughts tomorrow for however many more chapters, if people want to post how far along they've read, I can have a general idea of where to read to by tomorrow.

Chapter One
Put simply, Voldermort gives me the creeps. I don't know what to think about Malfoy or Sanpe at this point. Killing the one Professor, (who was that? I don't remember her mentioned before.)
Chapters Two
I skimmed through this pretty quickly, (horrible I know, and I'm sure there're little things I missed in the articles, but I'll re-read them later.) I do not like Rita, I never have.
Chapter Three
So Dudley finally came around.
Good for him.
Chapter Four
I have so many thoughts on this chapter, I'll try to keep it brief though. The "seven Harrys" was cool, though I was worried about certain characters the whole time. I was so upset to see Hedwig be the first character to be cut, I know the professor Voldermort killed was technically "first, but Hedwig's death really got to me. I think it shows that no one is safe, since I wasn't even considering animals in my "who's going to die," predictions. I was upset about Hedwig all last night, trying to let it sink in that she was gone. Voldermort can fly? WTH is up with that?
Chapter Five
Another chapter I was generally worried about the characters the whole time. This is not going to be an easy read for me. Horrible about George's (or was it Fred's?) ear. Though I'm so glad they still have their senses of humor, even with that. I was way more upset about Hedwig then I was with Moody. I just really never liked that character all that much.
Chapter Six
A much lighter chapter, which I feel was needed, and was glad to read.
Chapter Seven
I've never liked Scrimgeour.
Chapter Eight
That sounded like a beautiful wedding ceremony. Glad to see Luna again, and Krum. Ron's Aunt Muriel sounds so stuck up. I can't figure out about Luna's father. I know Krum's being cautious about him, but I don't know what to think. Scrimgeour's dead. The first death I am not at all upset about.
Chapter Nine
Hermione is a genius. I wonder if Harry really does still have some kind or other of a trace on him?
