It was rainin hard in Frisco
I needed one more fare to make my night..............

:cloud9:

Don't you shake your head at me missy!!

I HATE this song!!! It makes me want to :crazy2:

But it's o.k., please finish the words and enjoy yourself if you like this song. I just wanted to share my opinion. Thanks for letting me share!

..a lady up ahead waved to flag me down
she got in at the light....

never mind :sad2:

my mother always told me if you can't say something nice..............

but some just have to go out of their way to rain on your parade

Hey, I'm surprised that anyone can get thought "Cats in the Cradle" without bawling...but that's just me.

I said "where you going to, my lady blue? it's a shame you ruined your gown in the rain..."

I loved Harry Chapin. saw him in concert several times -- I live on Long Island, as did he, and he did a concert at my high school, and at a local park, and...

and I was in Eisenhower Park, waiting for him to perform, the ngith he was killed in a car accident on the Long Island Expressway.

that man was amazing. he raised more money for world hunger and for Long Island food pantries....

and if you need an upbeat song of his, I'll play you "30,000 Pounds of Bananas".

She just looked out the window, and said
"Sixteen Parkside Lane".

Oh thanks for making my day. I really like Mr. Chapin. I was so sorry when he died. My favorite though is Flowers are Red! God forbid my son ever goes to a school like that!

Ahhhh....Good ol' Harry :goodvibes

Mr. Tanner is my favorite :)

Holy crap, you just brought some memories of an old boyfriend back to me.

something about her was familiar,
I could swear I'd seen her face before...

in concert, Big John would sing the falsetto part of this song. but if Harry wasn't with the band, he'd ask the audience to sing instead.

I really like "All My Life's a Circle".

I thought you said Harry Connick Jr? :confused3
Keep your Harry's straight!

OMG I was living on Horace Harding Expressway which was the road running parallel to the LIE, the night he was killed. We heard the ambulances that night and saw the news reports the following morning. I was a major fan of his. Very sad and very tragic. Love the songs and the legacy he left behind :thumbsup2

Something about her was familiar
I could swear I'd seen her face before,
But she said, "I'm sure you're mistaken"
And she didn't say anything more.

It took a while, but she looked in the mirror,
And she glanced at the license for my name.
A smile seemed to come to her slowly,
It was a sad smile, just the same.
And she said, "How are you Harry?"
I said, "How are you Sue?

Harry was one of the great writers...how many of his songs seem to hit home.

thorugh the too many miles and the too little smiles
I still remember you.

it was somewhere in a fairy tale, i used to take her home in my car

We learned about love in the back of the Dodge,
The lesson hadn't gone too far.

I start crying about now....

You see, she was gonna be an actress,
And I was gonna learn to fly.
She took off to find the footlights,
And I took off to find the sky.

One of my all time favs

Oh, I've got something inside me,
To drive a princess blind.
There's a wild man, wizard,
He's hiding in me, illuminating my mind.
Oh, I've got something inside me,
Not what my life's about,
