Yes, I read it's a five year deal with Netflix that they signed in 2020. The children's content that they created has already been shelved, so this is it so far. The Spotify podcast is dropping in the ratings by the week. Netflix has a few more years to get what they can out of these two I suppose, but seems like it's a loser of a deal for them. I can't imagine any big deals down the road either. What they've released so far is a highly controlled, very guarded series that comes off as a filtered instagram feed. Overall I'm left thinking that they are going to need a lot more money than they have to fund their lifestyle for the next 40+ years or so. They seem to want it all....the ultimate level of privacy and security/protection, without the mega-bank account that is required to pay for it. They've both said that they see themselves as dedicating their lives to public service. Great....but do they know what actual public servants get paid? It's relatively easy to be a public servant with the Billions that the Royal Family has backing you up. Otherwise....pretty tough.
This is where I think Harry is completely ignorant. Not being in line for King really he was probably never taught any business like William would have. He would always have a good paycheck and all his costs covered by doing his job. Charles has actually been a good businessman with the firm and made them lots of money. Am sure William is learning by his side.
Wouldn’t Harry have gotten a sizable inheritance from The Queen? Just how much do they need?
According to tradition all the inheritance follows the monarchy. While she left some direct to William (real estate ..) the majority of all goes to Charles. It would be on him to pay any of the Royals for their work. Harry likely received nothing.
Could it be that the reports of him calling Gram for money several times was to get himself on the will, maybe not an immediately handout? He has to know the process and that he was not in line.
Diana left approx $31.5 million, money she received in divorce. It is said Harry received approx $13 million US.
Did read that the Queen Mother left him money as well, funny they don't talk about that. She had $17.9 million US and left the majority to Harry because William was in line for Elizabeth/monarchy money that Harry was not in line to get. Her money would not follow the line and it makes perfect sense that she wouldn't worry about those who are already wealthy and soon to be weathly.
And the new trailer is out. This doesn't look good for the palace:
Harry: 'They were happy to lie to protect my brother, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us."
Meghan: "'I wasn't being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves."
I saw that and honestly it told me nothing. "Protect his brother" what does that even mean? Of course he gets security he is a future king, are they protecting him from stories about him? Perhaps, but not sure how that would impact Harry unless they are stories between boys. Or is he saying that William said or did bad things that they lied about? Things that likely will never be settled in a way that makes anyone happy. At the core it sounds like a family problem, and internal issue and there is no need to air your dirty laundry unless your goal is to hurt everyone. Every family has issues, you deal with them and keep moving forward. He is burning that bridge good.
What she said is colorful but I think it just means they weren't actively trying to stop the press from talking about her. We don't know what was happening behind closed doors, just the fact she admitted what she wore on first meeting shows a disrespect for the monarchy. Was it clear to the royal family that Harry was using this as his final exit from early on, before we even knew of her? Did they give them the minimum expecting this outcome. I mean the more you give, the more you stand to lose. This is highly complicated, and sadly they weren't going to let Harry take the monarchy down because he was perpetually angry.
Sounds like these two need both a budget and a financial advisor urgently. I really don’t blame Charles not taking his calls. At some point you have to stop throwing good money after bad.
I don't think he has a clue about money management. He never had to worry a second in his life. He probably just assumed money would follow him even after he quit. He was not known for his academic excellence at all and made his way as an athlete. William on the other hand went on to get a university education.
Charles is not obligated to pay him anything for work not done. This might have to be a tough love situation. And I really hope Harry finds his way, makes his mark and lives a content life.
