Harris Teeter Triple Coupons 9/14!!!

The Harris Teeter was a madhouse today, possibly because new coupons came out in the Sunday Paper. It reminded me of shopping at the Commissary on payday. Also one lady had the nerve to try and take something out of my cart because there were no more left on the shelf. I by no means am a "shelf clearer" but i had two of the last three Dole fruit crisps on the shelf, another couple had the other. But aside from that, my savings again..after getting two weeks groceries was 96.09 after 52.56 in savings. :lovestruc

Awesome! I don't have many coupons and I normally just buy whatever is BOGO that week at HT and come out pretty good. At our HT, they sell out of the specials and then re-stock them sporadically throughout the week. Hence, the Log Cabin syrup was out on Friday and back on the shelves Sat morning!

Our restocks maybe ever 2-3 days. They've been out of the Betty Crocker brownie mix since Triples started. I'm not sure the cheerios on the other hand, not sure why they wouldnt triple. If i saw the receipt I might be able to figure it out. But at least it wasnt the whole order!

Our coupons this week sucked...one pack was 98% adds for mail in stuff. I would have been going off on that lady. I hate when people do that. I tell you I am not a "shelf clearer" either, but when I am standing there looking at something and seeing if I want to buy it because it is on sale or marked down and someone trys that or pushs me out of the way to get to what I am looking at...I pull my cart up and clear the shelf. i then go down the aile and look and decide then how many I want and what I don't want I put back. I have done that 3 times with chicken at the Food Lion. The one time I was looking and a woman pushed me out of the way...she picked up a few packs and I took the rest...I walked away with her in an up roar and when I went down the aile to see how many I wanted, because I knew I did not have enough room in the frezzer, the woman followed me and said I was rude because she was not done getting what she wanted and started to put her hand in my cart. I told her she was the rude one and not to touch my chicken, that if she wanted more she should not have been rude and pushed me out of the way. There was an employee near by and told the women not to touch what was in someone else cart like that. She was mad, started to walk away and the employee started talking to me about the chicken and I told him what had happened and that I had not planed on buying all the chicken and the woman turned and said I want it, but I told the employee that because she was such a rude ______ that I was buying it all. Before I left the store I had most of it resold to family that had room for it. I mean you can not beat 1.00 for family packs of leg quarters or boneless chicken breast. That is one thing I can say don't come between me and my deals. :rotfl:

Here's a "thank you" shoutout to the Budget Board:

I hate clipping and filing coupons, but HT's Triple Coupon promo inspired me to get it together yesterday. I had so many circulars on the pile that it took 3 hours to go through them all. Then I made a shopping list and dinner -- never go food shopping when you're hungry.

After dinner, DH found six more coupons inserts that had been misplaced. I groaned, but dutifully went through them. I found coupons for things on my list in every circular, so it was time well-spent. Plus, he found my free Ritz Crackers coupon from mycokerewards.com, so I put that on my shopping list, too.

DH and I went shopping together for the first time in ages, but we started at Kroger and bought most of the stuff there. No "extreme coupon" savings, but we did okay - saved about 40% with Kroger store coupons and mostly-doubled mfg coupons.

One manufacturer coupon was clipped from a Target circular and had their logo on it, so DH hesitated when he saw that one. I confidently said it was allowed since it wasn't a store coupon and that I had checked it out first on this board. We also used our Kroger rewards checks, so the total payment came down a bit more. Picked up some extra points with a "double points" coupon and a bag credit for bringing my own reusable shopping bags.

By this time, it was 9pm, so we never made it to Harris-Teeter. We bought gas at Kroger with our points discount and went home to unpack and get ready for Monday.

Going to try and get to HT today and pick up a few things, but I don't think I can pull off any deep discounts.

Still, thanks to the Budget Board for the ideas and tips!

Good Luck! But deep discounts or not, a penny saved is another penny for a future Disney trip. :goodvibes
